What road bike do you have?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

My new pet.. '07 Ridley Orion frame, campy record and campy chorus, ksyrium wheels.

It replaces my Giant OCR C3.. can't diss the bike, just wanted something with a little more.. oomph. LOL

Still a newbie to cycling and have a lot to learn, but I'm enjoying it.

Another added to the stable...

'06 Lapierre 971 Team Scandium w/Ultegra Groupset...nothing special, just wanted to try something different and couldn't pass up the deal on the frameset. However the clearance between the seat tube and rear wheel is extremely close.

Still need to fine tune the fitment...

What group are you in? US Marine Band? What instrument/voice? I'm a percussionist with the USMA Band @ West Point. There are quite a few military musicians who frequent this board. Nice C'dale, by the way!

Pugdawg, beautiful bike. I love those Ridley's. My riding partner has a Scandium, which is also a great looking bike with pretty good weight for the price.

Excellent job on the orion... gorgeous.

No kiddin'?

I'm with The Commandant's Own, US Marine Drum & Bugle Corps (which I proudly declare to be the loudest service music ensemble in the world.. lol). In the past, we've opened up the Fair and played for nearly three weeks with the Marine Band from New Orleans taking over and closing out the rest of the shows. The repertoire list I got earlier this week has 29 different pieces that we'll pick from for our concerts & parades (which could be less than a couple years ago when my dad counted 34 tunes in one week... I think). If you come early enough, you should be able to get a seat near the center of the bleachers, which is -- by FAR -- where we sound the most balanced (and, of course, loudest).

You guys think the seat bag & water bottle looked bad; I just geeked it out more today with a barend mirror and taillight. I have to admit, I've been nearly paranoid while riding without a mirror... but that's another thread topic.

Nice! I did a show with you guys long time ago ('95). I marched in the Bluecoats, and we did an early season show that featured you guys and the Marine Silent Drill Team as special guests at the Football Hall of Fame. Good stuff!

And as for the mirror, etc., be as "Fred" as you wanna be! No need to worry about it if it works for you.

Was '95 the only year you marched Coats?

I was teaching Railmen at the time -- their last year on the field.

I think we have some mutual friends/acquaintances.. lol

Yup, we ordered the frame and pieced it together. With many thanks to my helpful boyfriend, who owns a bike shop and is a major lover of the road bikes. He has an '07 Orbea Opal with the same components and wheelset.

Here's my new Cannondale Six 13 "08 WSD. This is before it was actually ready for me with a longer stem on the handlebar, compact crank and blue cages.
Rode it on a club trip last weekend to Cape Cod and it's sweet.

They nearly match the blue, a little darker but they look nice I think. It's raining this morning but I'll get a better picture next time I take it out.

My first Roadie (most likely my only roadie for awhile too) I just picked it up today! Sadly I also fell because of the clipless...... I clipped out on my right foot but my bike leaned to the left and i went down....
now I have a big bump on my knee cuz I was protecting my new baby.

can't wait till my test week is over so i can ride for a couple of hours
