Just brought her home this week...

Madone 5.0™
Frameset
Size 58cm (Sized down from my previously fit 60cm bike... this bike feels like a much better fit.)
Frame OCLV 120 Carbon
Fork Bontrager Race Lite, carbon
Bontrager Race Wheels
Tires Bontrager Race X Lite, 700x23c, folding
Shimano Ultegra STI, 10 speed
Front Derailleur Shimano Ultegra
Rear Derailleur Shimano Ultegra
Crank Shimano Ultegra 53/39 Double
Cassette Shimano Ultegra, 12-25, 10 speed
Specilized Alias 143 saddle (replaced Bontrager)
Seat Post Bontrager Race X Lite Carbon
Handlebars Bontrager Race VR, 31.8mm
Stem Bontrager Race, 7 degree, 31.8mm
Pedals-Cheapie aluminum for now... They're light and they easy to use on the family rides.... I like them for now. I'm sure soon I'll get into the clipless soon (I need to a little more reading on what to look for).
Headset Cane Creek S-3 w/cartridge bearings, sealed
Brakeset Shimano Ultegra w/Shimano Ultegra STI Levers
Trek Incite 11i Computer
Cygolite 300 Dualcross (fantastic light)

Keep an eye on the rear Bontrager Race wheel. Watch for non-drive side spokes coming loose when the road gets rough and cracks in the rim around the spoke nipples. Warranty will cover it if it happens.

It would drag and after adjusting a zillion times and having it be okay for a couple rides at a time; it was bugging me. Plus, I hardly ever found myself using it anyway. So I ditched it.

They're probably fine. That "run it outside the rear derailleur on big-big then add two links" business is a fine rule of thumb, but you usually end up with a longer chain than you need. If, running it through the derailleurs, you get no chatter in the rear in big-big, you're fine. What did the man buy a long-cage rear derailleur for if he ain't going to use that swing?

The chain does look too short. But he looks like a pro with the builds so surely he has measured for the big-big combo (else that dreaded chainring fold)

The Cannondale is fine though...any more slack and it would be slapping the chainstay in the small ring..
