Hi... It's just some standard Shimano SPD-SL pedals. It's the Shimano PD-R540 to be specific (https://cycle.shimano-eu.com/catalog/...=1193454033498)
They work great for fitness use and they're pretty cheap.

Nr. 1

2003 Merlin, Sram Force, Ritchey WCS carbon stem and handlebars, Easton EC90slx seatpost and fork, titanium Chris King headset, FSA K-Force light cranks with ceramic bearings, Dura-Ace cassette and chain, Zipp 303's on Zipp hubs with CX-rays, GORE cables, SLR kit carbonio flow, Zipp cages, Polar CS600 and speedplays.
Nr.2

Not quite finished, only thing staying is the frameset, groupo and bottle cages.

I need to get a good picture outside in the sun for ultimate sexiness.
But here are some sexy teasers.
2007 Specialized Tarmac Team Edition

I haven't been able to ride it ouside in almost 4 days because of the nasty rain. So its on my trainer.

There is certainly a lot of seat post showing, but not much he can do about it. With sloping geometry, head tube height is key and from what I can see, he is not a 'flip-it' candidate - so the bike appears well sized.

not as high tech as the bikes here, but its still fun to ride. How hard is it to upgrade a threaded headset to headless? Is it worth it to be able to use all the modern stems and headsets out now, instead of a quill stem?

It is definitely worth the upgrade, provided you really love the bike. The only things you'll need to swap out are: fork, headset, stem, and spacers. The secret that nobody tells you about the swap is that you can shed a ton of weight on the fork compared to the threaded fork, particularly if you opt for a carbon steerer.

BostonRoadee the bike is great for long distance events. I've done all the BMB brevet distances and a few 24 hour time trials with it. I have a second zipp that is not painted and has been sitting for years that I just started putting back together last week. I just finished breaking down the flame zipp so it can go out for a new and better flame paint job.
