What road bike do you have?

Bike ≠ Car ≠ Ped.

What's funny is that the Eggbeaters also seem more stable with the three-hole Quattro cleats than they are with the plain cleat & MTB shoes I usually wear.
Double-sided & four-sided CB pedals & commuting FTW.

I guess you are talking about my Cinelli Spinaci bars. They are old now as they were banned by the UCI about 1997 as they believed they posed a threat to safe braking. The trouble is many riders used their exposed shimano cables in a similar fashion.

i think they're around 1700g. a bit heavy compared to others, but i'm willing to make sacrifices here and there for a bomb-proof, hand built, easy to maintain and service when it needs it wheelset. i might have weighed it with the seat bag last time also, but it's definitely not the lightest bike in the world. the three most important things about it are that it's fun, it's comfy, and it works.
if i wanted to, i could save a little weight with an ultegra 10 or dura ace 10 rear derailleur (i'll eventually get around to this, my new 'cross build is taking up most of my time and money at the moment), and the handlebar is also a bit on the heavy side (but i like the geometry of it). the stem is a cannondale fire model, which has got to be one of the lightest i've felt. not very stiff, but definitely pretty light. i'd go for something stiffer, like a thomson, but i only weigh about 140lbs, and i'm not much of a sprinter. i could probably lose some weight in the fork, but that's an expense that i just can't justify, since my current fork gets the job done just fine.
the same build with reynolds attacks was about 17.3 and i'm really not noticing much of a difference in how the bike rides without them. i'm feeling much more confident on descents with the kings, they corner so precise it's ridiculous. but on flats and climbs the two wheels feel very similar.

just got my first road bike a few weeks ago, its a too big for me 1995 Cannondale R 700. it has all shimano 105/600 parts and is now for sale. i figured id get a smaller frame and transfer everything over but then i found one that fits me great! the second one is an Alan carbon/aluminum frame with all Campagnolo parts and is a fun ride. i haven't found much about Alan bicycles but i knew it was a good buy when i saw the components.

The Roubaix graphics can be very understated - i.e., the bike calls attention to itself by not calling attention to itself. I've watched more cyclists than I care to recall pedal into other riders, lamp posts, run through red lights, etc., while they attempt to decipher the minimalist decals on a Roubaix.

it's not italian so i don't see the point of giving it an italian-sounding name, that's all.
plus....
it's funny.
but i see what you mean about 'why bother'ing. i have paints lying around, and now it looks more unique.
