Mine has a suntour sprint group, indexed. It's a really really nice group IMO but being the first year index was ever used period (AFAIK) it leaves some precision to be desired.

1991 Trek 1100 aluminum. R 100 / Exage group, Selle San Marcos saddle, Scott aero bar, Look ARC pedals on replacement Octalink Shimano Sorus triple cranks and new BB, Michelin Erilium 2 Kevlar tires, and ancient mismatched water bottle cages (1 plastic 1 aluminum) from my "spares" bin.
It needs new wheels and upgraded drive train from the 7 spd it has now. If I do upgrade it to 9 or 10 spd I will put DA shifters on the tube rather than brifters.
In the pic it's dirty (again
)and some of the bits are worn but she's got a lot of miles on her and even more left in her. 840 miles this year even with a back injury that had me grounded for several months. I should double that before xmas as long as my back stays put.

Italian paint
My first road bike was a Masi. I experienced some paint chipping, but I thought it was normal wear. Later, I got a Cervelo. The paint on the Cervelo is much better. Maybe it is the Italian paint.

Nice, i like it. We have the same saddle
I'm curious, which Masi is that?

Since I hadn't posted my new bike on here yet... this is what I've been riding since June. 1,142 miles on this one so far:

...and a bit of customization...

I'm in the market for a few things including a white saddle that makes my crotch happy, a Thomson post, and some fresh bar tape pretty soon... and I'm intentionally not moving any spacers just yet, at least not until the back starts behaving.

Get my first road bike in 30 years about three weeks ago: an Ibis Silk SL, red. I have Ultegra components with an 11-28 SRAM cassette and Mavic Ksyrium Elite wheels. I also changed to a compact, slightly oval, carbon handle made by Reynolds. I'm about to switch the pedals from a mountain type (that worked with my current Sidis) to an Ultegra or Dura Ace road pedal and new shoes.

How did you manage to get the decals off? Or did you have it stripped and repainted?

Hey guys i'm new to the forum and new to cycling! I just moved to Austin, TX. I live in Downtown so I figured what better to get than a road bike?
Here are pics of my bike I got yesterday. 2000 or 2001 (not sure) Specialized Allez. Going to take the aero bars off and make some minor adjustments today after work. I still need to get a helmet, shoes and shorts.

^^It's not as flashy as others that I have seen and I like it because of that.

This is my bike. I'm using for commuting to work and for road rides on weekend as well.

I know it's stock, I but I love it.
I also have this that I'm going to convert to fix for workouts/commuting:
