Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Sweet. What size do you have, and how tall are you? I'm inches away from ordering one, but don't want to get one that's too big. It looks like you're on the 62cm, amirite?

yep, I was so pumped when I saw it just sitting there. The only thing was it needed new brake cables and housing but that was only $20 and it is probably too big for me but I still growing(I'm 16).

This frame might be too big for you. Your seatpost is set pretty low. Take it back to the LBS and show it to someone who knows what they are doing. Hopefully they will get you a frame that fits you better or show you how to set your seatpost.

Interesting. How does the bike feel, in terms of fit, and in general when you ride it? Do the index shifters work smoothly?

Also, you seem to have the seat in the lowest position. Is that how you usually ride it, or have you tried raising it?

My first road bike is a OCR A1. It has an Alliance frame-top tt, seat tube and seat stay are composite. 105s and compact crank. Feels close to all carbon for $1400. The 2009 Defy (OCR) A1 is going up to $1700.

$8. The sellers were senile and thought it was a tricycle right?

Cripes. Everybody in the world (except for me) seems to have found one of those awesome, red-and-white Schwinns for $0.00 at a garage sale somewhere. Except for me. Except for me.

One of these days...

If you're 16 and even halfway flexible a 59 should be perfect. Good you fixed it, that picture looks like the saddle was 5-6" too low. I'm your height and ride a 60cm and my seat post looks like a telephone pole.

Maybe I just haven't been looking through the forum long enough, but I see a lot more Giant/Trek/Specialized bikes on this forum than Orbea.

Sorry for making an epic noob comment

Hi Folks! New to the forum but not to biking!

Here's mine! I bought it a few weeks ago. All I know it is what it says on the side an 06Trek SL, I can't find the exact model anywhere on the net, so I'd appreciate if any of you could identify it for me properly. I'm about to grace it with a set of Mavic Ksyrium SL's, which will drop it's weight considerably, although it is a fairly light bike to start with.

She's a peach and I can't get enough of it!

regards SB
