Some updates on my (not so black anymore) black lightning:

Shimano 600 drivetrain, and a new front wheel, dura-ace laced to mavic, already feeling lighter!

Caught in between old and new....
Hi, I'm new here....not sure whether to post this in the vintage section or here...here goes....
Old, unknown Italian Vintage Steel from the 80's (Saronni branded, Made by Tecnotrat, Cuneo Italy). Repainted metallic pearl white (originally red + white + chromed fork) due to very used condition of the paint previously.
Build it up just over 2 months ago, transferring full Ultegra 10spd gruppo from my previous ride. Stem is Shimano 600 series (I love this stem!) and seatpost got off ebay, NOS Vintage Campy Centaur.
Those wheels are new - Mavic OP on Ultegra hubs. Been enjoying it a lot, albeit only on weekends...buttery smooth and surprisingly fast!

Sweet Saronni. I love the modern drivetrain on the old frame. The best of both worlds. I did the same thing with my Columbus EL SOMEC, I put Campy Chorus on it. All the great ride of Italian steel, all the clean shifting of a modern drivetrain.

Some upgrades to my entry level bike: Ultegra brifters, rear derailleur & brakes; Dura-Ace crank, 10 speed cassette, bottom bracket & front derailleur, Shimano WH-R550 wheels & Easton E90 stem. Oh, and white handle bar tape. I really lucked out getting almost everything from a guy in my cycling club for dirt cheap.
