That eleganza bar tape looks cool, but it has a 'tacky' feel to it. Some don't like it because of that. It can be tricky to wrap too, although I didn't have too much trouble when I used it last year.

Here's a rebuild I've done to a Nashbar Frame' cheapy aluminum frame. It's now built up with mostly Campagnolo Mirage 10-speed componentry, but with a Xenon RD (bought very cheap from PBK), and a Shimano 600 FD (works great!).
Fork is carbon from Chucks Bikes (bought about 2 years ago).
Headset is a Stronglight Headstrong 1 inch.
The front wheel is a Supergo Korso, and the rear is a Performance Bike Titan.
Stem is an old Ritchey Pro (1 inch), and the seatpost is a Titec. Handlebars are Titec Malone.
Saddle is a Rolls ;-)
I've only be out on it once so far, but it rides well, and should be great as a training/bad weather bike.

not quite as sweet as the 928sl above, but I love it no less!

Picture taken somewhere between Islip and Oakley, UK...I think. It was a magnificent day in the English countryside.

New Ti Ride
Just accidentally scored an awesome new bike this afternoon. Took my Madone in to the LBS for some maintenance this afternoon. Seems they had just put out a bunch of Seven Cycles bikes on clearance. Demos mostly. Some carbon bikes, several of Seven's gorgeous carbon/Ti mixes, and one full Ti Axiom model. Happened to be my size. Interesting bike. Its a 2001 model Axiom frame set. The Owner built it up a couple years ago as a demo. Full 10 speed Dura-Ace, Chris King headset, Richey carbon fork, Richey stem and ergonomic bars, Selle Italia SLR saddle. Has about 1,000 miles on it. Bontrager Race X Lite wheels with new Race Lite AC Hard Case tires. I rode it for an hour and absolutely fell in love with it. Paid $1,999 for it. Kind of like getting the frameset half price, and all the components for free. Sold as new, so its got full warranty. Couldn't really pass it up. Rides like a dream.

Thx. I didn't really need another bike, but for that price, i could part it out and come out ahead. of course I won't - its an awesome bike. Now I need the legs to justify having it.

What shop? I may have to see what else they have when I visit this Thanksgiving.

My Specialized Allez Pro
This was my main ride until yesterday. Dura-Ace 9 speed.

This is my latest. I purchased the frame and components over the last 2 weeks and built it on parts of Friday night, Saturday night, and Sunday morning. Took it for a ride on sunday.
The frame is an Alan Supreme 3K, and the group is Campy Record 10, with the "Red" levers.
I'm still adjusting lots of things, such as fork steerer length and stem length.

Here's my first road bike. I tried to do the best I could as far as OCP picture taking rules go. I know, the stem isn't flipped. I started with it all the way up, then moved it down two spacers, next week (after about 300 miles) I'll move it back up but flip it.
2006 Fuji Roubaix RC
Dura Ace 9 Speed shifters
Dura Ace 9 Speed cassette
Dura Ace BB-7700 Bottom Bracket
Dura Ace Hollowtech Cranks
Ultegra Derailers
Look KeO Carbon CroMo Pedals
Forte Titan Deep Wheelset
Tektro RX-40 Brakes
Bought it on eBay. Frameset had 0 miles, everything else had 1200, didn't come with these sexy pedals. Paid $900, then had some work done. The bike probably cost me $950 including the work (minus pedals).

as long as the cables don't rub the frame, it's fine. sometimes done to reduce cable housing rub on the head tube with narrower handlebars.

Most bicycles with handlebar-mounted shifters run the rear cable on the right, the front on the left. This causes some awkwardness in routing the length of housing from the shift lever to the frame stops. Due to the need to allow these housings to be long enough to permit the bars to be turned all the way back and forth, the housings often wind up making a reverse bend--for instance, the rear will go from the shifter, which is on the right, swing forward and cross over past the centerline of the bicycle, then back over to the right side of the top tube, before heading down the down tube. These extra bends increase friction, and the fairly forcible contact between the housing and the side of the top tube can damage the finish.
A neat solution to this is to run the cables "criss-cross" style: The rear runs from the lever, (on the right) around the top tube, and to the cable stop on the left side of the down tube! The front cable crosses over similarly from the left side of the handlebar to the right side of the down tube.
The bare cables then cross one another under the middle of the down tube, making an "X". The cables may touch where they cross, but they will do so very lightly, since they are both straight...the tiny bit of friction at this crossing is more than offset by the reduction in friction in the smoother-flowing cable housings.

Nice bike.
I wonder if you can give the name of the store? Do they have a website and online purchase? I wouldn't mind scoring a bike like yours.
Cheers

[QUOTE=Wkend_Warrior;7711754]Weekend Warrior, I'll PM you with some information. The shop has several Seven in stock, none quite as radically priced as this one, but they seemed pretty motivated to meove some inventory.
