- 2009 4.7 Trek Madone;
- later 80's Cannondale Black Lightning;
- '83 Nishiki International.
Still love riding the Nishiki and Cannondale. The steel (Nishiki) is heavy but very comfortable. The aluminum (c-dale) is not but is a workhorse. Still intend to use that for crappy weather.
Will not know how to deal with a shifter that is not on the downtube.

Not a great picture... not complete either. See this thread to read up about what I'm doing with it.
That's a chrome plated fork, btw, and that is glare on it that is causing it to look black.

1995 TSX-UL RC frame... Cane Creek Volos wheels... Full ultegra basically.

Awesome bike! Even the TIG'd fork looks good, which I usually don't like.

I just found a gnar picture of my current rig. The only thing different from this picture is the saddle. I've got a San Marco Regal on right now. Just a more full, classic shape.

About to get double-Argons, the E112 and the Krypton, both with Chorus Grouppo. wheels, not sure yet. Club has sponsorship for Reynolds, so i was thinking of going with the 66's plus their disc. That way I'm covered for everything, RR or TT's.

I cleaned my ride recently and took a pic for the zephyr group buy so I figured I might as well post her up here as well, even though she isn't done yet (hopefully to get under 15 lbs, if you have any suggestions for lightening her up, throw em out)

The crank that's on there now is a 52/39/30. Would I have to replace my left brifter, fd, rd, cranks, and bb to do the trick or could i change out the crank/bb first and then do the rest at a bit later in sequence?

1. Crank/BB
2. F. Derailler
3. F. Shifter
4. The rear derailler doesn't care how many chainrings you have, but you might want to change to a short-cage if you want to save the weight and will be using a tight cassette. Alternately, if you are afraid that changing from a double to a triple will limit your low gear, employing a long-cage r. derailler will allow you to run a much broader, even MTB-like range on your cassette-perfect for effortlessly sailing up hills on your sub-15.

So if you go to a compact double and bb, everything else on there will work. Compact doubles are lighter than doubles in most cases (since the rings are smaller) and they'll be a nice substitute for your triple.
Maybe get a good set of light cranks. That'll shave off some weight.
Then depending on what seatpost you have, you might be able to save some weight there as well.
1 lb is 454 grams. If you get a good light crankset, you can probably drop atleast 200ish grams just with that, no?

I really like DA cranks. Probably if you get the 7900 series cranks on there, you will be good enough weight-wise without compromising stiffness.
Here is how I would run the upgrades after that. You could get a lighter stem (and I recommend working on your core so that you will eventually be strong enough to turn the angle downwards), a lighter seatpost (it looks like you have a Bontrager Race Lite on there; those aren't very light) and, perhaps, if you can, a better saddle and handlebars.
