Just bought a used 2007 Cannondale Synapse 1 (alloy). It has the Shimano 105 components and the WH-R550 wheels. It's in great shape! I'm still getting used to riding a road bike after putting in 230 road miles on my trail bike these past two months. I haven't had it out for a "real" ride yet: hoping to get in a ride tomorrow morning. No pictures yet.

new purchase as of early June: picked up a late model 2008 Specialized Tarmac Comp Double 58cm (upgraded from an old Trek 1000 with downpipe shifters)
not my bike, but looks identical:

only about 300 miles on her so far, but i'm pretty happy with the purchase. very light, excellent components imo (ultegra shifters and RD with 105 everything else), and great fit for me. I was originally going to get the Specialized Allez Elite Compact or the Trek 2.3, but this was on sale for only $300 more and i decided it was worth it.

^ That's awesome. One of the prettiest paint schemes Trek has made IMO. I'm jealous

although that picture is not my exact bike, mine is a 58cm
i didn't get to choose the color scheme since it was the last '08 tarmac they had and luckily it was in my size. fortunately i like the color, although i may change the grip tape after a while.

The bike the insurance paid for after my accident a few months back
I've had it since mid-May or so, and I am in love.

Ha ha. I was expecting it, but not that soon! I'm tall but seem to have a short torso...the bike is a 60cm. My last bike had a 40 degree 100 or 110, this is a 30 degree (I think) and less, maybe 70-90.

When is good time to buy a bike?
Hi. I'm looking to buy a Specialized Sirrus Sport or Elite. I heard from a LBS that the manufacturer already stopped producing 2009 model and 2010 model will be in the market very soon. Does anyone know if they will offer some discount for 2009 model once 2010 model is available? If so, I think I will wait till then. Please share your experiences how you got a bargain deal, too. Thanks.

If you want a deep discount now, hope and pray that you can find an '08 or older.

Incremental upgrades continue --
Debadged EA90 SLs bought barely used (the rear hadn't even seen brake pads), with a Red 11-26 cassette and Red-specific freehub (both unused);
Brooks Swift, which completely negates the weight savings of the Red parts;
Used Cannondale "Competition" seatpost -- got it for its micro-adjustability. Not bad for 20 bucks.
Blackburn Neuro 'puter, which might be new since I last posted pics (I forget).
Of this latest round, the only parts for which I paid retail were the computer, tires, and tubes... well, not even those, because I'm friends with my LBS.
Oh yeah -- I think it's funny that, as I move upmarket with wheels (OEM were Shimano WH-550s, then Fulcrum 5s, then these), their spoke count is increasing. Fine with me, though.
