Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I have no idea honestly. The rims are 585 grams each, 32 hole straight gauge spokes D/A hubs, xtra long brass nipples...........easily 2500 grams would be my best guess. If you want bombproof, these are it for sure.

Cool... Yeah I so far was looking at Velocity Deep Vs. These are popular with the fixie crowd but they make ones with a machined braking surface and these are 30mm deep and come in multiple drillings. How do yours spin?? I heard heavier rims spin up a little slower.

They do. But I didn't build them for speed but for training. They are bombproof, spin up slower, climb slower, BUT they are stable as can be. I've always strayed away from training on race wheels and 32 hole 3cross wheels definitely speak to my 'old school' heritage.

Yeah... I spoke with a wheel builder and he suggested I go with 28h in front and 32 hole for the rear, both laced to like a Ultegra or DT Swiss hub, and that will still yield me a good stiff wheel set

Here is my bike. I built it on a shoestring budget!!

Yes, post 14587 on page 584. I've since flipped and slammed the stem, and I'm checking out different saddles. As I am starting to like this bike more and more as I am getting my legs back. It reminds me of my Basso.

Wow, I know I'm a little out of touch with brand new bikes but I didn't know you could get a sub-17 pounder for that.

Very nice bike. I like the Garmin look a lot. I was going to buy the F5 until the LBS gave me a unbelievable price on the 2009 F3, it so way too good to pass no even though in all seriousness I did not need a bike that good.

Planet X SL Pro Road with Rival and Model B wheelset. Comes in at 17.42 lbs with cheapo Wellgo pedals and Cannondale GT40 cages.

Very nice!!

Thanks!

You can just see a little bit of Easton 2117 arrow shaft near the bottom of the rear wheel. Didn't bother to PS this one out since it's not showing much

Cannondale Six Carbon 6, 54 cm. Just picked it up today. I already took care of the seat, i'm not going to flip it or lose the spacers, the height feels perfect. Overall an awesome bike!
