What road bike do you have?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Same situation here more or less, and I pretty much agree with you. OTOH, except in terms of price, how is that BMC different from your average Road Cycling thread, where a rider is asking about which bar tape they should use? All in search of their own sense of independence, individuality, and the American way no doubt.

he can do what he wants to it, but we can have our opinion. also, deciding between black or white bar tape doesn't decrease the functionality of the bike.

That's what he did, that's what you, me and everyone else did. A fixed-gear is still a bicycle, is it not? Any other revelations you have to proffer?

jermso, neat World Champ stripes in the spacers -- do they sell them as a set like that?

*edit* Ah, found 'em online; I'd have to get them in 2mm to fit all five colors under my stem. Cool.

An ultra light fixie is on the list of things I want to build someday. I was thinking about trying to make a 14-15lb fixie out of one of those old cannondale criterium frames.
