Finished upgrading to Rival. First time I've done anything to that extent. Maybe a few things I could clean up still but I just want to ride, and it's raining today :(.

Isn't exactly my dream road bike, but it's what I have for the moment. It has been a few years (decades) since I did much road biking. After chasing my 12 yr old on a 50lb Mountain Bike for 25 miles, I decided that if HE was going to be on a road bike (1981 Takara) then I needed something a little more nimble again. Used ($25) 79 Schwinn Le Tour IV (I think...need to post the specs in Vintage...might be a Le Tour), and have been flogging it on a few 25 mile runs and a 35 mile run. Getting it AND me back in shape.

It's raining so you "can't" ride...Really, you can't ride due to rain? C'mon dude. HTFU and ride your damn bike. It's rained 28 of the last 30 days here in Portland OR and it hasn't stopped folks here from riding.
If you really want to ride...you just saddle up and ride!

Your sig says, "I pedal in my sleep", not gettin' in much saddle time that way huh. Better change that to, "I pedal in the rain".

Lol. I don't get paid to do this therefore I ride for the enjoyment of it. I don't enjoy riding in the rain.

LuMax 03-17-11 09:02 AM

@UCIMBZ - I will be doing this ride in July: 2 days, 240 miles and ~21,000' of climbing with elevations in excess of 12,000'. We ride this route West on Saturday and back to the East on Sunday. My 11-28 is staying right where it is.

Picked up my bike and went for a break in 30 mile test ride and WoW, totally different than my Allez.
2010 SL Club - Shimano 105 - Plus a few custom extras ;)
I have new pedals on the way (shimano 105 SPD-SL) but I wasn't about to wait for the pedals to ride this thing. I'll post more pics with the S-Lite wheels instead of the Quasar Training wheels when I switch the cassette.

Just bought it today.

The bars look silly from this angle... They look much better in person.

adzzz 03-17-11 10:14 PM

Lower your bars, free speed boost :)
Unless you really really like the extra comfort :)

rat fink 03-17-11 11:54 PM
