Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Your Look is lovely (post #619, on 03-15-04), being a safty geek and quite a bit of a raven (ooooh, shiny things!) I gott to ask, what kind of bar tape is that?

Here is my new ride...2004 Lemond Tourmalet. Shimano 105 shifters, 105 front/Ultegra rear, triple (please don't say it) and Trek 9i computer...stock, and I love the wheels...clipless is next. Just brought it home, and of course its gonna be rainy and crappy tomorrow, and I don't have to be at work until 2 in the afternoon...*%!%$&!

Gotta change the saddle though...it hurts!

Cheers,

Brian

A very nice bike you ended up with there. Nice looking the new Easton seatpost,
but a setback would probably fit you better. You really put a lot of trust into
those hollow Ti rails. Congrats !!

Just got back from first ride. 84 miles of rollers. Very comfortable. Does not go downhill as fast as my old bike that has hugi hubs. Re: Set back seat post. This has the same dimension to Handlebars as my previous bike that I've ridden 11000 miles. It seem ok, no cramps, numbness etc. The new seat is real nice, it actually has some padding left. The carbon is much, much softer than the Aluminum.

I'm a geek who changes the batteries and resets the ODO on new year's day, so the ODO reads 3588km (2230 miles).

My Raliegh 531c has about 75,000 km on it (~46,600 miles), and it cost me about $2000 AUS, which would've been about $1300 US.

Thank you. I'm not goanna hide the fact that I really like it myselves.
It's not very light though, sub 16 but A LOT closer to 16 then 15. It's a heavy frame.
This was always ment to be a comfortable 'ride all day' bike, and it is !!
The bar/stem is an integrated made by KUOTA.
It's stiffer than most of the others around and you can see it clamps on a much
larger surface of the steering tube. Here’s a pic

Thought I ought to put up a picture of the Carbon Fiber Rocket since I upgraded its drivetrain to Dura Ace. I just love this bike.
