What road bike do you have?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Looks great! Love the color. Sounds like heresy but I like it better than the celeste green...

Is that sign a photochop or something? Also your bars are way too high. Please remove the spacers, cut the steerer, and flip the stem.

Or ride it exactly the way it is, up to you since it's your bike.

Come on Soloist, what's up with all of the negative posts lately?

Come on this is BF. We all know stems with vertical ride are unacceptable by BF standards, and a minimum of 4" saddle to bar drop is required. I'm just trying to help the guy out. There was no negativity there, just advice. In any event, what is the deal with that sign?

2010 Motobecane Sprint

It's taken me over a year to take any pictures of my Moto. I love the bike; I can't claim the same affection for my garage door:

I couldn't really do the sparkly orange paint justice in the short time I had for pics:

Totally awesome. You know you have a decent biking community when they build a dedicated climbing lane Heading to Vail Pass on Wednesday and renting a couple of Defy Advanced's to try out carbon.

Please excuse the crappy cell-phone pic.

Both my bikes were stolen out of my apartment complex last Monday ('06 Allez E5 with all sorts of goodies and a Kilo TT) so this is replacing them. Fit mostly dialed in (had to flip the stem and lower it by 1x 0.75" spacer) now. Picked up one of the nifty Fiz'ik saddle bags that clip into the seat today but took it off as per BF mantra

Very excited for her maiden ride on Wednesday. 40mi commute to work - should be fun.

edit: before anyone says anything, next on the list is Look Keo pedals and new road shoes. The SPDs are only temporary

Hi folks, Here is my dream bike come true:

It's a 2011 Trek Madone 5.2 with Shimano's Ultegra Component Group. All I've done to it so far is swap out the stock stem for one 10cm shorter and I added Bontrager's Node 1 computer along with the purpose built DuoTrap combo speed/cadence sensor. Said computer also came with a heart monitor. Dang cool data for this hopeless geek.

Oh I dropped it once tweaking it roadside on my first ride. I was bent over it making an adjustment to the RD and stood up to fix the ache in my back and didn't hang on to it well enough. It fell and the seat stay hit a rock and diggered the finish right in the middle of the Trek label. Oh well she's been christened I suppose. The good news is my Mad Red Head aka Lucy rides like a dream!

I'm just getting back into road cycling after having stopped many years ago. This time I decided it would be nice to grow INTO a bike instead of growing out of one!

Sweet bike ya got there. Nice story as well. It feels great to get a new roadie after alot of years off. I did the sameback in 2005 and was amazed at how far road bikes have come since the early '80s.

Happy riding,

Brian J.

I am sure you mean 10mm. Nicely done. Don't sweat the scratch. A pristine bike is an unridden one.

Just put this guy together last night. Picked up the frame, an unused Look 586, for a song, then moved all the parts from my previous bike - a much loved Orbea Starship. Please disregard the seat as it's a test saddle from my LBS.

Obviously the saddle isn't set, and I think I need to lower the handlbars a smidgen, but overall, I'm really happy with how its gone (other than I still suck as setting front derailleurs).

Full Dura-Ace 7800 everything, Easton EC90 Aero bar, I'd like to upgrade to some Shimano C35 wheels, then slowly start upgrading to 7900.

Quick iPhone photo taken on a ride this morning.
I'm currently incredibly slow uphill, slower downhill and not best ever on the flats. However, it's great.
I bought it as a treat to myself after I broke my back and shoulder/collarbone in a crash in a race in may. Sold all my racing kit at the behest of my wife but bought this. I already had the group and saddle, got the frame/chainset/seapost then added new wheels stem and bars.

2011 Cervelo R3
SRAM Red
Rotor 3D+ cranks / ceramic bbright BB
Look HM Ti pedals
3T team finishing kit
Fizik Aliante Carbon saddle
Spesh SWorks Classic tape
Mavic Ksyrium Elite 2011 wheels (brilliant! I've had all sorts before, including Zipp, Campag Bora Ultra Two, Dura Ace, light weight hand builts, but these are for me the perfect balance of performance and price)
Vittoria Corsa Evo CX tyres, although I have some paves for bad days too.

To be honest it's not an exotic bike or exciting to look at but it rides like a dream, it's really stiff and direct without smashing your back doors in.

Headtube is long but that means for most of us less spacers showing.

I think I may end up changing the chainrings to Stronglight CT2 as I'm not convinced by the oval business and the shifting isn't best ever. Fine on a TT bike where you just shove it in the big dog and stay there but not on a fat boy cruiser.

If I can be bothered I'll take a proper picture when I'm home.

I may even sort the steerer out one day. However as I get fatter and my back gets worse the bars may creep up a little.

Just picked this up Monday evening... rode it 32 miles Tuesday on the morning group ride. It's been 6 years and almost 18k miles since I bought a new (road) bike. Makes me start to want to upgrade things again. Thinking about some 58mm CC wheels... have to save some pennies first.

PS: The plastic disk will be gone as soon as I have time to take off the cassette. Also, my garage isn't white... it happens to photograph better in front of mine anyway.
