What road bike do you have?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Thanks a lot man. It's a '97 metal matrix and if I'm not mistaken, it was the top of their line that year. I've only seen two others like it and both on the internet; one of which belongs to a fellow BFer.

He has mentioned quite a few times before than he bought the bike complete with Ultegra and switched out the group to Force. He is still selling his Ultegra group. Though if it doesn't come with a crank (looks like you kept the stock OVAL crank on the Fuji) he's selling he group minus crank.

Raven came out beautifully. Have you gotten to ride it yet? How do you like those Stock ALEX Oval wheels.

The wheels are the weakest part actually, smooth on the bearings and roll smooth but heavy rims. I know I'll be getting some Mavic Ksyriums eventually. I won't be upgrading the crank though. I've found with some inspection that there's small FSA logos on the bearings, BB shaft, and chianrings. It's just a re-labeled FSA Gossamer Mega Exo.

With my location and current weather conditions, she won't see the road for awhile and Sub Zero will be seeing the snow with her studs. I'll let you know my thoughts once I get a few miles off the trainer. I've yet to weigh her, but I'm sure it's less than 17lbs.

With pedals and those wheels? I would be surprised by that, but hey. Yes, please let us know how 'she' rides.

My bikes gone through a few stages... Still needs to finish being put together.

Stage one (as purchased with LOOK pedals added)

Stage 2 (Upgrades FSA crank to a 105 double, added 105 double FD and lowered stem)

Stage 3 (Upgraded to Rival drive train minus the crank, threw on Aksiums)

As you can tell, I need bar tape, cables and I need to have my chain put on. Since my bike has red to it, would red tape and/or cables be overboard?

You'd consider going from sora/tiagra to Sram Rival/105 crank is lateral? I know the wheels won't make a killer difference but the price was low so my impulse set in and I bought them haha.

oops, sorry. All the banter in the hot or not thread I thought I was somewhere else.

I like the lines of this bike, but those wheels and tires ruin what could be stellar.
