The Defy is a coast to coast/endurance geometry. Isn't the idea to have the stem up? Is this the Defy 1 Composite? GREAT bikes.

Yea- defy advanced 1 composite. Im 6'1" and have long arms, so long and low stem is still comfortable for me for longer rides. I might get a more neutral stem if that one feels to agressive when it's flipped. It just has a realy upright feel as it is

Advanced. Nice scoot indeed.
I had 2011 Defy 2. Absolutely perfect geometry but I'm long in the inseam and short in the torso so at 5-10 the medium was perfect as delivered for me. It was stolen. I replaced it with a more aggressive Trek but that was a mistake. The Defy just fit me better. I bought 3 new bikes last year. I'm sure it won't be long before I go to another Defy though mine will be the entry level composite. It is outfitted with the APEX gearing and with the mega hills around here and my chicken legs, I need the ratio, which is why I bought the Trek/Apex.
Great bike. Have fun.

I road the entry level composite, it's a nice bike. If you can find the 2011 model of the defy 1 composite (not advanced) you can get one for a substantial mark down. The shops in my area were both marking them down because they were last years model and were trying to get them off the shelves

I got this running a couple of weeks ago. 58cm, frame weighs 1250G, SRAM red, Fulcrum wheels, Thompson goodies, 3T bars etc. I made this one with a slacker seat angle and I really like it. 50 Miles today.

That's cool you built your own frame, and a seriously light one too, well done. MIG or TIG?

I took updated pictures of mine today as well; now that I got the ergos straightened out. Also the backdrop (atmospheric) was excellent today even though it was a freak 100 degrees in Vegas today. I just got to get they posted up.

To each their own I suppose... I'm in the minority as in probably being the only one.. but I DON'T like that Ridley... sure it's got great components.. but I don't like the bike as a whole...
The green bike that FTWelder posted up is NICE to look at

Do post up pics of the DeRosa; their whole lineup are all great looking bikes. I always wanted a King or Idol frameset but the only LBS that carried DeRosa is the LBS I'll never do business with.
