What road bike do you have?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

My new bike I picked up a couple days ago. It's my first carbon bike, and first with ultegra.

I'll join the Synapse parade. New saddle, seatpost, stem, and bars. Just finished washing it up from the last few weeks of rainy commuting.

Hah, there's no accounting for taste! I have the same raw aluminum frame Synapse 105 that you have, smeach, and like the raw aluminum frame so much that I waited a few weeks for my LBS to order it specially, when I could have walked out the door with a white frame 105, which is not MY favorite. But I guess we all agree it's a great bike.

Nice bike. Are those Plant Bike fenders? How's the Synapse been as a commuter? I'm using my Synapse now as my fair weather commuter/weekend bike, but haven't even tried setting it up for all-weather commuting. Thanks.

Yup, they're Planet Bike Cascadia fenders. I bought the bike specifically for the fender mounts as sort of a fast, do-all commuter/weekend bike. It's held up great so far in all the typical Seattle wind and rain (aside from a sometimes creaky BB30 bottom bracket...but that's a known issue). No complaints.

Now that i have had it for almost a week and ridden the bike about 50 miles, I am SO glad I got the Synapse versus the Giant Defy 1 that I was looking at. Everyday, I am liking the raw aluminum better--I think we have made a good choice!

Just found this last week. '07 Alpe D'Huez, been switched from 10 speed 105 to 9 speed Ultegra. Cane creek Headset, 3TTT handlebar w/Salsa stem. Only thing left 105 is the front derailleur. Added the new tape, Look pedals and the Aksium wheels. Getting new Fizik seat in a couple of days.
