What road bike do you have?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

For those suffering from carbon overload... my separable tourer has been pretending that he's a road bike as I have been testing the frame and gearing modifications before I tear things down for powder coating which should happen next week.

Has been really fun running the bike stripped down from it's usual fendered and racked up self but the touring gearing does limits my top speed... cruising along at 30 kmh is no work have maintained 40kmh over some longer flat sections as it has enough gearing for that but no big descending gear.

It is a pretty decent bike on gravel too.

Phillips 20 (with a butt load of custom work).

I have had more than a few folks ask if I could do the same level of custom work to their 20's as I have done to mine... if I was not a frame builder and had deeper pockets I would have just bought a Bike Friday as they make a fine small wheeled road bike.

With that being said, I have done quite a few custom modifications to vintage 20's for folks and there is something about riding a bike you put a lot of work in to.

My 20 is a pocket sized tourer with a pretty stout build... I have other small wheeled projects in the works and will be building up a Dawes folder into a nice all rounder and if all works well I should have something just like this Moulton for next spring that will be all about going fast and will do nothing else.

I chose that pic because of the windmills. The pic was taken from the top of The Wall after the Suprior Morgul road race.

here's my ride. Love at first sight when I first saw it. Yes, it's a cross bike but i wanted versatility. Recently added EA90 slx wheels on the bike. (and yes, i will eventually switch the stem around). what do you guys think? (ps: do any of you think that the seat should be higher?)
LMK and thanx for looking!

Nice looking bike. We have no way of knowing how high the saddle should be without seeing you on the bike.

Must be nice to steal all your power from other states Alex. Lol. I kind of like the Wind Turbines. Definitely don't have to bankrupt free flowing rivers to get their power like in Cali. The picture is pretty sweet and the bike is nice as hell. I would name the picture "Sustainability"

+1, The saddle doesn't need to be high for aesthetics, (though the people in the hot or not thread would disagree) It is about having it high enough that you are getting the most efficient pedal stroke you can.

This isn't the place to discuss green wet-dreams but those windmills kill birds by the thousands and are truly ugly.....
