What road bike do you have?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Sure! I could have built it with Veloce and Mavic Ksyriums but where's the fun in that! The build list is as follows:-

1. THM Carbones Clavicula ISIS crank
2. Schmolke TLO carbon bars
3. Lightweight Obermayer wheels
4. WR Compositi carbon monocoque 31.0 seatpost
5. Look Keo's Ti
6. Record throughout
7. Veloflex tubs
8. San Marco Rever saddle

Ah... that's why it's so much. You are using alot of the rare euro stuff we don't really see over here.
You could still build it with Record and Obermayers if you got Easton/ FSA ccontrol items. Might take away from the whole thing though...
do you race?

Hey, Richie Rich W, looks like you could use a personal assistant to keep all those bikes happy. Where should I send my resume?

The compact Legend is snappy and super-quick... the Ottrott is over-stiff... not as much wind-up for sprinting.

Interesting....

I would think that for a $5500 frameset it should be nothing less than perfect.
Do you think that the fitter didn't build it correctly to your ride style?

While the geometry may be custom, I'm pretty sure the tubing is standard. It might be that Serotta doesn't use carbon tubes with a lot of vertical compliancy compared to their ti tubes.

No, there are 3 or 4 different tube sets for the Ottrott of various stiffness levels. The entire bike is custom practically, no reason it should be too stiff.

I was the fitter to some extent... I opted for the firm-flex tubeset, and oversized chainstays. Torsionally super-stiff... vertically quite compliant. Trust me... its one kill ride. Great bike for the longest of hauls. Low slung BB @ 8cm.

Seriously Rich, you can only ride one bike at a time. We don't want the rest of them getting jealous. You should give me your least favorite.

My FP is an absolute dream and every bit as good as the hype! The M.O.S.t BB is a significant improvement and adds extra stiffness where it's needed! The Lighweight wheels are worth every £ of the £2,700 I paid for them!

I have added another picture, but having real problems keeping file size below 100 k.b - any tips?

Sure. Download Irfanview and its plugins, it's one of my favorite utilities, and it's FREE! Open your picture, then resize it. It has standard sizes, or you can customize it. Then select "save as" and save it as a JPG file. When you do that, you can then select the compression you'd like, so you can get a bigger picture in with the same amount of data (to a point before it becomes degraded). I recommend 75 as your setting. Experiment with it and you'll get an idea of what I'm talking about. This program is a great viewer and have MANY functions that cost money with other programs. It will also play video ect. My recommendation: just set it as the default viewer for images only. It loads very fast and uses minimal memory. Check it out.

Here's my new '04 Serotta Coeur d'Acier. 55cm with mix of Record/Chorus group. Have since changed the Ksyrium wheels for Open Pro on Record hubs.

Cool bike! Steel frame with a carbon rear triangle, right?

Yes.....steel with a carbon seatstay.

Slightly less stiff and slightly lighter, but mostly because the bearings in the Record hub are about as good as it gets. On 'coast-offs' between several different sets of wheels the winner last summer amongst a group of us was always the guy on the Open Pro/Record hub combo. Regardless of who was on what bike.
