What road bike do you have?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

2011 Madone 5.2

One of my first posts here. After riding an aluminum Trek 1200 on and off for 25 + years, I finally decided to upgrade. About 3 weeks ago I got a great deal on a 2011 Madone. Loving it so far.

First post. I picked this 2009 Raleigh Team from craigslist last week for a really good price I think. Ultegra/105 mix. Liking it so far, hoping my new saddle and stem come in the mail today.

My first real Road Bike, Trek 1.5 - bought it a few months ago and have been enjoying it. The white bar tape is getting dirty, may change to black next.

I like your bike and the new Madone's. Trek doesn't seem to get a lot of love on the boards and it is hard to understand why. They offer a lot of treknowlogy for the dollar...aero frame, integraged brake, ANT, derailleur mount and chain catcher, Project One choice of color and components, 750 gram frame, etc.

My newest build, a 2013 De Rosa Merak II

And some minor changes on the Ridley. I switched to a Specialized Romin Evo 143mm and removed the white glossy bar tape and opted for the red version.

How do you choose which bike you want to ride? Just which ever calls your name the loudest?

After taking out the Merak for its initial ride yesterday, I don't even know how I'm going to choose right now. I went out on a routine 30 mile loop and it just felt so comfortable, handling is superb and very responsive in/out of turns. For a frameset that cost almost $1300 less than my Noah Pro, I was surprisingly impressed because so far, I feel this is a comparable frameset without the higher cost of the Noah Pro. But I'm looking forward to our Sunday ride since its usually a 65-80 mile ride; I'll see how I feel after logging in the longer miles this weekend.

Nice bike, try a little Oxy-Clean on the bar tape. Brings the white out on it.

Well the bug has definitely bitten me. Over 700mi in 1/2 a year on my first road bike and dropping 20lbs, I bought myself my "halfway" there present, my "realistic" dream bike. sorry for the crappy pic, I snapped a quick one when I brought it home the other day, and have been too busy with work to even take it for a ride...getting anxious

Ahh jeez, yea, we're a car family! Currently back at home while dealing with mortgage people and finding my own place to buy...I've only driven the Mustang around the driveway to move it for my mom cuz it doesn't have power steering but I'm technically too young for classic car insurance to cover me on the road...first world problems amirite?

I'll admit, I like that you took the pic in front of your garage with the door open!

Lol...convenient pic to post right? I actually took it just to send to my sister right after I bought it (hence the plastic on the saddle) but was reading this forum tonight and got too anxious!
