What road bike do you have?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

the only problem with the 2012 Sworks Project Black Venge is that you CAN NOT, ever, under no circunstances, go slow...no recovery rides, no getting over an illness...it must never be passed by any other bike...holy...

Ah, the very reason I joined this forum is to find an answer to this question! I am trying to buy my first true road bike, albeit a used one, and I started a thread to find an answer! Help is appreciated: https://www.bikeforums.net/showthread...Used-Road-Bike

I can't tell who makes that bike. Maybe the maker should emblazon their name in a few more places across the frame and forks.

i don't mind the way it looks, but it is kind of ridiculous how often a manufacturer's name are on many modern road bikes. I've been trying to find a decent entry-level road bike for my girlfriend, and she HATES the big name on the downtube(or anywhere else obnoxiously), so it's making this hunt a very difficult one.

It is in the way they do it. On this bike the word "Scapin" appears 17 times, but it is not as blatant.

CDales are known to have their names plastered on every bit of prime real estate on their bikes.
I like the look of their frames, but they overdo it on the decals.

Wow!!!
I lucked out I guess. My Defy has 6 Giant decals(plus the head badge), & 6 Defy decals(2 of them are sort of ghost decals on the seatube), all of which are pretty small.
This is one of the reasons why I went with this frame.
You can see for yourself.

I'd luv to see pics of your Defy, I don't see to many in the 41.

that's a nice bike, mine is post #21466 on pg 859
only half of the brands are blatant, but the wheels alone counts 20 times. 5 on the down tube 2 on the head tube, 2 one the fork, 1 on the seat tube, 1 on the seat post, 1 inside seat stay, 1 handlebars, 1 stem, 1 computer mount. HOLY COW I can't count! that's 35 times. I thought one wheel only had 2 but it's 6. they should be paying me for all that advertising!
you might notice the back wheel on my bike is oval, it's the fish eye lens.

With the bars? Just a standard setup with Token super light carbon bars and stem. I usually ride low, in the drops so that position is optimal for me. Went with SRAM white tape and hoods. I've since switched to Schwalbe Ultremo ZX tires with white striping, which looks a little bit better.

Although I've never seen one, I've heard a lot of good things about Lemond bikes. I tried to find one while looking for my most recent purchase but never was able to although I am quite happy with the Scott I ended up with.

If you are looking for a new bike, it's a good time to get a discount on a '12, with the '13s starting to roll in.

Just purchased a '12 Giant Defy Composite from LBS. Pretty sure the '13 is identical, so very happy with my deal.

Post a few pics when you get a chance!
I luv seeing Defy's in the 41, Defy owners don't get a lot of love around here.

For me, not a racer, the Defy Composite is perfect. It felt softer than the aluminum Defy I planned on getting. At 43, I think I deserve a little comfort

Will post pics in a week or so....

My newly built Gaulzetti Corsa! 14.06 lbs and rides simply amazing!

My good ole Look 595! Up to 12.6 lbs this year because of heavy cables and housing I used. Still a fantastic bike!

My Cervelo P2 with lots of "bells and whistles" sort of parts. Not as fancy as some of the new wonder tt/tri bikes...but still plenty fast!

My Trek Pilot 2.1! It's dirty, scratched up, poorly taken care of, too big for me...and it's perfect! I use this bike to commute or just go for a really leisurely ride. I never have to worry about crashing, scratching it, or locking it up anywhere!

My Motobecane Fantom Team Titanium! Still awaiting to get built up by me!

My Soma Double Cross! Formerly built up with SRAM Red but taken apart to build up the Gaulzetti. Will soon be built up as strictly a touring/randonneuring type of bike.

My wife's Van Dessel Rivet! Ultra stiff, light, quick handling race machine! She loves it!

My wife's Surly Cross Check! Built up as a classy touring bike!

My wife's Cervelo P2 SL...with a few upgrades. Super stiff and fast!

My wife's trusty Trek 7500FX! This sucker has seen road, dirt, paths, trainers, everything! It's been with her through her first half Ironman event at Steelhead. And now serves as a town bike and trainer bike!
