What road bike do you have?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

My new road bike is a 2012 Supersix 105

Day I bought it and first ride the next day .... Forgive the pedals. Along with my boys sweet R5

Now have Shimao pedals and Gore cables, everything else is just about the same. Minor fit changes.

Not sure how the Vuelta Corsa Pro's compare to the Mavic CXP22's (same as what I have on my Felt). Nashbar lists the Corsa Pro's at around 2.1 kg for the set. I plan on upgrading my CXP22's to Vuelta Cora Lites which are just 1.6 kg for the set.

Maybe he likes the joy of driving that car to and from the ride just as much as the ride itself. I know I would.

thanks guys.

Well that's a good assumption. My Wife's Q7 has a roof rack with 2 Thule Sidearms. My Lexus also has a roof rack with two thule sidearms as well and my third car unfortunately doesn't have the roof support to mount a bike. The R8 and the my third car gets zero use, i have 2 kids (3 and 1) and when i go riding without my family, i cannot use the R8. So in the past year, i've put on 1200miles, i was debating on selling the car until i found the seasucker's.

When i see a roof rack on a Porsche 911, i don't think that the owner was impractical, more like he/she enjoys their car with their bikes. And pretty sure they have another vehicle at home.

sweet setup bro. Love the R8. My next toy car is a GT-R. I can't get enough of them. Don't have the interior refinement but man they are true track monsters.

Been tracking my R6 (is the R1 bike related?) with all my fun money these days. Already can't wait for spring to roll around again.

I just got this 2012 Cannondale SuperSix 3.

It is replacing this 2001 Specialized Allez Sport that holds a warm place in my heart, but time moves on.

Cheers!

GTR is a crazy track car. Exterior has been growing on me since it's inception, and was considering one as my daily driver, but how stupid would that be to own a DD which is much faster than the Weekend Warrior. Yes, the R1 stands for Yamaha R1. Back in 1998 I was the first few in Canada to own a R1 and it was a beautiful machine. Unfortunately i got married, and one of the deals would be I wouldn't kill myself on it (tracked it all the time, had a 170km/h crash). Now with kids, i can totally forget about any future love affair. I did entertain the KTM RC8 (that is sweet!), but wife said No, and recommended i look at a GTR instead lol. You're lucky, I miss riding and would give up the sportscar for it. Cycling comes close.. well close enough.

What's with the F4i in the name? use to own a Honda? Previous F2 owner here

Actually, before that it was the Giant Carbon SLR Handlebars, and to be honest, that was more stiff. I find the Vuka has a little flex.

nothing wrong with that beauty. Like Riding motorcycles, "it's all about the ride", very little about the machine.

haha DD GTR would be awesome. Thinking one will be mine with my year end bonus actually. I need a larger garage . Can't fault the wife who suggests a GTR! Don't think I could ever part from my bikes though.

I've had my fair share of crashes (track only thank God) but luckily nothing worse than some bumps and bruises. You can see one on my YouTube channel if anyone is bored out there titled Kaaarash. If you play it slow you can see my hands come flying off... kind of amusing... After the fact. Was going about 50mph at the time.
https://m.youtube.com/#/user/SixFigur...FSixFigureNate

First bike was a '02 F4i - then I bought a 2009 600rr and have decked out my 03 R6 for the racing. Put 129 to the wheel, so very stout for a 600. One of my videos I'm battling a newer (2011) R1 almost the whole video.

Anyways to stay relevant here is another shot of my Roadbike !

Beautiful setup, but brrrr....with the leaves gone from some of the trees and changing colors on the others, it looks almost like a Chicago fall turning to winter already. Enjoy the ride while the weather permits. And kudos for using your car to haul your bike.

Hi all, my humble steed is a used Giant 2007 TCR I got pretty cheap off of CL back in Jan of this year (2012) with the intention of shedding MANY unwanted pounds. FF to October and I have lost almost 70 lbs and still going. I love riding, I try to avg. 20 miles a day, usually 5-6 days a week.

I just finished, pretty much a complete (tight budget) rebuild on it... thanks ebay! All new cables, housing, full Tiagra group, chain, cassette, wheels, bar, stem, tires, saddle, paint and powder coat.
I know it's not much to brag about compared to most of these bikes here, but I love it!

(haven't put the tape on yet in this pic, black Cinelli)

Here's what it looked like when I bought it...
