New pictures! This time they are better quality and the fork is now done:
This shot is linked direct to photobucket and looks good:

The next two shots I had to download via facebook and are not as good, but they do illustrate the whole doppler shift aspect of the scheme:

I love two-faced bikes, especially ones that look good from all directions like that Serotta. Excellent!

My only steed since 2004, Trek 5900 SL Dura Ace 7800 all around but my old man legs had me change to an ultegra compact this year. New Carbon wheels with CK hubs on order for Feb. This bike has served me well but will actually be going to the market soon in order to fund my next build... November Wheelhouse frameset, Dura Ace 9000 coupled with the new wheels. Pardon the poor image, taken in my office right before a little ride on the trainer with phone cam.

Hi, all. New member here. I've got a couple in the garage:
2001 Specialized Allez A1 (wrong size; put thousands of miles on it anyway; now a spare)
and a newly-purchased DeBernardi Verona frame w/ SRAM Apex group. 19 lbs to the Spec's 22. Could definitely put lighter wheels and tires and shave a couple pounds, but I'm not a racer, and the roads here can get rough...

First one
Purchased my first road bike today. I don't have my own pictures of it yet, but the one in the link is identical. Found it on a casual look through my local CL here in Savannah. I wasn't looking for one but I kept seeing it over the last couple of weeks. The advertised price of $350 stated "firm". But I decided to shoot him a text anyway. He immediately called back and said he would take $300. I couldn't say no and now it's in my dining room. He wrote in the ad that it was like new but I took that with a grain of salt. But I was shocked when I saw it. It is actually new. Right out of a 7 year time warp. And all original. It's like it had never been ridden. I have about a mile test ride on it and I'll be getting out on it tomorrow. Did I do good?

ftimw,
The Trek 1000 series are good bikes, if it is basically mint you have a great starter bike that will take any upgrades you want down the road. Good pick and a nice score at $300.00

Second real road bike
Still limited by a super tight budget
road pedals are on the way already

IMG_2295-1 by jerryzilla, on Flickr
going to get titanium skewers to replace the super heavy ones I have at the moment (i know the front one's on the wrong side, i've changed it already)
maybe an ultegra crank would look better than the force one I have at the moment?

Christmas gift
haven't tried it out on a long ride yet, as I don't have my pedals. From what I've ridden though, it is very uncomfy without a chammy
