I have not gone campling in Thailand. For some reason, back when I was in college, camping was okay in Oregon and Wisconsin.
The unchanging weather forecasts of a 50% chance of isolated thunderstorms has pretty much discouraged me from looking at the weather forecast. I just ride, regardless of threat of rain, and pull over if the motorcycles and vans are pulling over due to the heavy thunderstorm rain. Stupidly, I am not too concerned about the lightning.
My Lynskey Helix OS has become my defacto rainy day bike due to its complete lack of electronics and is shodded with Vittoria Open Pave CG tires - the Continental 4 Seasons would be probably better suited to rain but that would be like wearing plastic bags as condoms.....safe but no joy.

final update - 2012 Parlee Z5 SLi 6.38 kg
I think I'm done with changes:
1. More comfortable but heavier (163 grams) Prologo Scratch Nack saddle
2. Deda Superleggera 110mm stem (108 grams)
3. Rebuilt Speedplay pedals with Wade titanium spindles (162 grams)
4. Re-laced wheels (radial > 2x in front; 2x > 2x/3x in rear)
5. New Ultimate seatpost collar (7 grams)
6. Bontrager Race XXXL cages sanded and repainted (31 grams the pair)
All this nets to a very small overall weight reduction, but I'm pretty much weight-weenied out for a while...and not enough changes to re-post in H-r-N thread...

I should have picked up those thompson carbon road bars that were in the for sale section not too long ago. Man, those look nice.

New to me. Saddle has since been moved down a tad. Had some thicker soled shoes on when test riding. The 10 speed Campy record is quite the upgrade from 105, shifts upfront are much easier.

Youngin- can't go wrong with Campy. Aesthetically, I feel they're the best looking components and look great on any frameset. Great looking Lapierre.

Although that front end pic is jusssssst slightly off-center (seat post not exactly aligned with head tube) but it's no big thang.

My little candygirl...she's no top of the line model...but she's mine. Finally have her exactly how i want her...took a year to scrounge up all the extra bits, but it was worth it.

My (current) primary ride;
My "today's going to be a bit steep and I'm out of shape right now" ride;
My "Around town even though it's lighter than either of the other 2, I'll never buy aluminum without a replaceable RD hanger again" ride;

After starting out on a cheap 2009 Motobecane Mirage Sport, I finally finished building my 2012 Surly Pacer to my specs. It's nothing spectacular but it rides great and I am very happy with the overall, simple appearance.

I first replaced the frame with a Scott Speedster S30 in 56, it was not a perfect fit either, and I have known that Cannondale in 58 fits me perfectly ever since I tested a CAAD10 last spring. The frame I'm on today was for sale locally for at least 6 months and in the end I just had to have it. I would still like to have a CX similar to the old hybrid for go-anywhere rides, but a road bike with good 25 mm tires gets me pretty much anywhere I want to go. What's great is that I was able to get the old Stevens hybrid back to the original flat bar state and now it fits my wife perfectly.
I see your collection of C/V bikes has kept growing; any new ones in the making?

2012 Specialized Tarmac Elite :)
Just got her a few weeks back..2012 tarmac elite full rival. Planning on upgrading the brakes to red, getting a set of mavic cosmic carbone ultimate, and an ergo compact handlebar and she'll be all set
What do you think of the yellow?? i personally love the color on it, but it seems like a love it or hate it color scheme..
