What road bike do you have?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Wow that's a classic. I think $100 was worth it just for the sake of how cool of a bike that is.

My Univega (a few posts up, on pg 93) is a lot like your bike, but white

That's a really nice looking vintage bike. What saddle is that? Anyway, if I had to guess at the size, (judging from the photo) I'd say it's about 58cm or so. Easy way to check: take a tape measure, and measure from the center of the crank arm bolt to the middle of the top tube, along the angle of the seat tube. That will give you your center-to-center (c-c) measurement. Measure to the top of the seat tube for the center-to-top (c-t) measurement. If your tape measure is in inches, multiply the result by 2.54 to get the size in cm.

$100 sounds like a really good deal, mine cost $150 and I'm very satisfied that I got my money's worth. As far as the age of your bike, guessing by the quill-type stem, 6 speed cog, and the fact that it's a Miyata, it's probably from somewhere between '85 and '90.

Nice bike, keep enjoying it!

miyata, maruishi, bridgestone, and panasonic, were some of the better japanese makers. 6sp rear... perhaps early 80s. 100$ is a great price

Currently I've got a Surly Pacer outfitted for touring. Dura-Ace brake set, campy hubs, derailleurs unfortunately only 600 series. She's a beaut' though and I call her Karazyov. No digicam but I'm going to borrow a friends soon and post a pic.

custom spectrum road from 1992. It's a little big hence the seatpost being so low! i got used for 200 bucks including a mavic headset, fork and 3TTT stem. i added all Ultegra parts/Mavic Open Pro Rims, 3TTT handlebars and R600 STI brake shifters

It is with great pleasure that my 1999 Bianchi Campione makes its internet debut. Weighing in at 23 lbs, she's nice and heavy - which makes beating the old men in cat 5 on their sub 18lb bikes feel all the better.

some facts about the bike:
it says Bianchi 19 times
8 speed shimano cassette sitting on
Shimano WH-550 wheels connected to
Mirage 172.5 cranks with
Campagnolo Pedals
The 8 speed Campy levers aren't labeled with a model. They do say carbon on the piece above where the levers connect, but they're alloy levers, so I'm kind of confused.
Rear-derailier and fd also don't have model numbers
ITM Bianchi Stem
Bianchi Seat Post
San Marco Saddle
Vittoria Diamante Pro Tires (amazing)

Nice bike cloud. My brain tells me the stem needs to be flipped when I look at it, but if you like the fit, leave it be.

Here's my Pinarello Montello. Previous owner thinks it's a '97 (did Pinarello still build lugged frames then?).

57.5cm (c-c) seat tube, 56.5cm (c-c) top tube
Columbus SLX tubing
Full Campy 8sp gruppo (w/9sp r. derailleur, works fine) cranks:175mm
Cinelli handlebars (44cm) and stem (120mm)
Chris King headset
Mavic (F:Reflex, R:Open Pro) rims/Campagnolo Hubs/DT spokes
Michelin Pro Race tires
Time ATAC XS pedals
Selle Italia Flite Gel saddle

I love to ride this bike!

You can't link to images on your harddrive. You can either attach it to a post or host it online via www.imageshack.us and link to that.
