What road bike do you have?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

A week or so ago I picked up the new VeloVie Vitesse 500.

Sram Red 22. Reynolds strike wheels. FSA carbon cockpit. Fizik saddle. Look pedals. Essor bottle cages.

Stiff, light and super comfortable. Coming from a Fuji Gran Fondo to this bike feels leaps and bounds different. Climbing, sprinting and just generally riding this bike feels 10 times more comfortable than my Fuji.

This is with the STRIKES too, I could shave some more weight off by going to the Assault or the Attack.. Which I have already been looking at the Attack for the rides with more climbing. The Strieks are great for going straight on a not so windy day.. but a nice cross wind out by Saguaro Lake on some of the descents at 40mph you start second guessing yourself quickly.

No probs.
I'm a huge fan of Bruce Lee too, & considering getting a C-dale for my next bike. The CAAD10 tops list but he EVO is very tempting. I like your EVO, can't beat that color choice either!

Check out my SIG, & the list in "My Bikes".
Most of my riding is on my Rehab/recovery bike right now.
Just getting my knee, & fitness back to where I want it for next season.
Its almost time to retire my roadies for my CXers.

^ Had a 56cm version of that bike transferred to my LBS, only to have it sold before I got there! So I got this one instead.

2013 Giant Defy 1

Nothing too fancy, but it certainly beats the pants off the 1983 Schwinn Voyager I used to have.

My current bike at the university is a 2007 Marin Venezia. I'll get a picture soon of the actual bike but for now here is a stock image:

Bought it used in '09 and since put somewhere between 1500-3000 miles on it. Can't say for sure because I have had many of the cheap computers fail on me over the years and never had a chance to tally up an exact mileage for it. Still on the original front tire and has a Continental Grand Prix tire for the rear. Recently had a little meet and greet with the sidewalk here on campus yesterday, now needs the rear wheel re-tru'd. But overall, it's been a great bike!

First, this is a 2012 Raleigh Revenio 2.0 I bought earlier this summer when I decided to get back into riding. I ended up giving it to my wife.

Next is a 2013 Trek Domane 2.0 I bought recently (wife wanted a new bike to replace her Trek 2100 and I was going to buy her one but when this became available, I talked her into taking my Raleigh and picked this up)

I like the Trek and the Raleigh but this is probably my favorite of the three, a 1992 Paramount PDG Series 3. This is basically what I wanted in college but never could afford one. Frame is pretty much mint given its 20 years old (some scratches but nothing major, no dents, bends, etc.) A previous owner started upgrading it and ripped off the stock 7 speed RX100 and replaced it with 8 speed Dura Ace. I put on some STI shifters, newer Bontrager rims and will be installing a straight blade Easton carbon fiber fork.

I use the Paramount as a trainer or if I want to ride hard (good workout or blow off stress/steam from work or my insane children.) When riding with my wife, we take the new bikes.

Here is my newbie; an Allez. Bought it from another friend, in our local forum. Combination of (mostly) Shimano and SRAM components. It is as quiet as a Rolls Royce cockpit while driving. Alexrims Race 28 rear hub is the most quiet hub I've ever used.
