Cycling eh... It's a lot of coasting, and very low impact etc. Not my choice for fitness since cyclists to me have very disproportionate strength and fitness. Strong legs, mostly slow twitch muscles, weak upper body, weak core, weak back and low bone density, compared to other athletes.

With the crazy drivers around here and a stop sign every few minutes? No thanks. Rather just do my running interval, hill workouts on a safe road away from high traffic. I don't have to worry about running over walkers and dogs when running.
But you're probably right, but that doesn't cover the odd physique cyclists have. So a more rounded exercise routine for me.

Yeah. The Peachtree City / Senoia area is very bike friendly. There are always several group rides running around. Plus the PTC Triathlon is this weekend, so there is REALLY a lot of folks on the road.

Here's my B-bike. I mostly ride my Merlin, but don't have a recent picture of it. Will post that one soon.

Thanks! @marito1507, then you'd really dislike the all-white tires on blue Open Pro rims I had on there recently. I felt clownish and embarrassing to ride that way.

I recently purchased a 2013 Giant Defy 1. Very nice upgrade from my 2010 Specialized Sirrus.

Buy used off CL, you can sell for same price possibly later. Put aside some money from each paycheck and save. May take a while. Better job? Work two jobs? Don't eat out? Don't drink. I've found my biggest savings was due to not drinking in bars and clubs every weekend.

Had some adventures in bicycle maintenance today with the Serotta. Needed to retape the bars because I cut the black tape too short. I used some red tape I had laying around (yeah I know, tape ought to match the seat etc, but whatever), and also rotated the handlebars up, and slid the hoods down to compensate and keep them level. Well… Now that the job is done, I realized these changes require a longer cable housing length. So now the handlebars are "tight" when I attempt a sharp turn. Grrrrrr…

I got my first road bike yesterday. A Merida Ride 90. It's a cheap beginners road bike, but I'm very happy with it.

I Just have to revisit the shop for some fine-tuning of the front derailleur, since it's scraping the chain a bit when in the highest 3 gears. Other than that it rides very well
