Yes, it's full carbon. The original MSRP is $1699 and apparently....a bunch were sold at that price. Only thing I can think of is, either they are going out of business, which doesn't make a bunch of sense since they still are active on their webpage....or...they are making a new model and got rid of old stock. This isn't unheard of in retail I know...don't know about framesets though. Apparently mississippimud knows about the deal...but I don't.

I was told they were blowing them out ,not sure why , if they were "closeouts" or out of biz type of deal from the manufacturer , I know the seller GoodbyeCycles always have great deals , I have bought two wheelsets from them , I always rate them 100% ! Either way a 1600 frameset for 300 bucks ! Not sure about the steertube though ? That is a killer deal .....

I have a 2006 60cm Trek 1500. I posted in another thread about maybe updating this thing with new components, but it seems my bike isn't worth much and that might not be smart. bummer.

The value of your bike is somewhat subjective. Sure, it has a retail value and a used value. But...is it comfortable? Does it fit well? Are you happy with the way it feels on the road? Those are "values" that no one can put a price on except you. True, the 1500 is a "mid" range aluminum frame...it's basically no frills. But here is the thing...you can upgrade components with the ones you want, then later if you want to upgrade the frame....viola...you've already got some choice parts to transfer over. And if you have to replace one thing due to size differences (seatpost, front derailleur, etc...), not to big a deal. I just bought a new frame to replace my aging aluminum ride and all I had to buy was a new seatpost. $20 for a basically brand new all carbon post at the local non-profit community bike shop. See what I mean?

Well.....here it is in the final phases of the build up. You'll see the Pro 4's on the table, along with the bar tape. Have to get it on the trainer tomorrow to get the bars and levers dialed in right before I tape it up. Everything with the exception of the seatpost, stem and bars are directly off my old bike. That includes the Oval wheels from my old Fuji Roubaix. Plans for later in spring include a DIY wheelset from BDop. I may upgrade the shifters and derailluers to Ultegra, but the 105 really shifts fine still. The wheels are definitely pretty beat though. Other specs:
105 shifters, fr/rr derailleurs
Ultegra brakes
D/A 7800 crank/6800BB
Pro Vibe7 bars, round, 42cm
Bontrager RXL stem 100mm
Zeus full carbon seatpost
Selle Italia Flite Team Edition saddle

Classic GT Edge. Frame is a 94' fork is Easton and built up with Sram Group. One of my favorite build to date.

Finally got it out for an actual ride on pavement...first dirt...you know, cuz it's winter like hell in Colorado right now... It started snowing minutes after I got back.
Anyway....rides beautifully! The last carbon bike I had was a 1st gen OCLV in the 90's. I did however, forget how much I don't like that saddle so I think I'm going to have to put my comfy, old, worn Aliante. Can't wait to get some more miles in.

First is my Time Trial bike, with these wheels it will be used on the longer hilly Time Trials we have in England in March/April. For the flatter 10, 25 and 50s the rest of the time I have a HED tri-spoke front and a powertap disc rear.
This is my Winter/Beater bike, I absolutely love it! I've had it a couple of years now and thought I'd best take a pic once I'd cleaned it up.

Anyways, my bike just got an upgrade to Di2 and picked it up from the shop earlier this evening... so I felt I should post an update.
Basically Ultegra Di2 mechs with the mid-cage RD to support the 11-32T cassette (yes... I'm running old-man's gears now) and a 34/50T FSA K-Force Light crankset. I sprung for Dura-Ace brifters though (for the hidden buttons |8^) and am still waiting for the back-ordered D-Fly unit so I can integrate with my Garmin Edge 1000.

I'm actually looking at the same bike to buy. The LBS has it discounted and in my size. How are you liking this bike so far? I've never had a road bike before so this would be my first one if I decide on this bike. Your picture of your bike is making me lean more towards it.

I've been looking at the Kona Red Zone for a while and finally picked one up yesterday. I like the fact that you don't see another on when you go on a ride!
