Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Turd is a term of endearment... I love the bike, the 85 sr300 is the only cannondale to come in this color, its a definitely a cool bike.

Nice. Some old school looking bar tape would look really cool on there.

Is it me or does that handlebar look massive compared to the rest of the bike?

they usually do in pics. Cameras distort the handlebars a little, b/c they are closer than any other part of the bike to the lens.

Well I don't feel like a tool now when I go on group rides with ''real'' cyclists. Even though nobody has said anything I would still feel like the ugly duckling.

Strictly from a 'bike feel' standpoint, theres not much difference IMO.I have a carbon fork which may make the ride a tad smoother.
However when you consider I went from a 39/50 front and 14-28 7 spd rear (30 pound bike) to a 50/34 and 12-28 8 spd (21ish pound bike) There is a significant difference in my ability to climb.
I also just bought clipless road pedals (from platforms) and now it's totally different.

I think any bike will feel different than your current bike. Im not super picky about little differences. However I will say that this bike has less random noises and creaks as my yukon.

And the paintjob is totally sweet!

Hey,
First of all I'd like to inform you that I'm from Poland and I'd like to apologize you for my possible language mistakes
I've found my bike in the basement because I decided to ride a little during this summertime. It turned out to be a quite vintage Cannondale, so I decided to identify it - there's a lot of Cannondale bikes that look simillar (M-XXX series) but I cannot find exactly the same one. Can you help me with it?

I've attached the pic of my bike.
