Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Just got back into cycling and got my first road bike a Jamis Ventura Sport. Nothing too fancy but works great for me so far and I'm really enjoying it. Added a Sigma 16.12 STS computer and Michelin Pro 4 tires (in my limited experience tires are one of the better things to invest in even if your bike isn't high end). I still run SPD so just installed a set of reversible SPD/platform, haha not the most roadie approved set I'm sure but I like them.

Just picked up a 2013 Fuji Roubaix 1.3 (105 all round).

Very happy with the bike...I had owned a Trek 2.1 before and this is light years better. Just fits my body so much better. Also felt more natural than any of the other bikes I test rode over and over...

Getting fit and adjusting it later this week. Will also change the seat, stem and handlebar tape to black:

Yessir I did.

$900 and 20% back in store credit...

Figured I'd ride it for a little and then adjust everything as needed. Really like the frame. It was between this and a CAAD10 105...honestly couldn't see a difference to justify the price.

Cool, how did you get 20%, I just bought a set of Reynods and received the normal, 10%. Maybe because of a new bike... enjoy the roads of Clermont if you can.

They do 20% store credit weekends every 2-3 months...and every now and then they do a 30% (rare unicorn).

I just so happened to get the bike the weekend they were doing 20%. Lucky me I suppose.

Thanks.

-frame, fork, headset, and stem: 2013 Time ZXRS
-shifters, drivetrain: Dura-Ace 11-speed di2. yep, the electronic stuff. cranks are the only part not Dura-Ace; i wanted the darker colored cranks, so i had to go to Ultegra
-brakes: TRP
-cables: Yokozuna
-handlebars: FSA Omega Compact
-tape: Stella Azzurra Eleganza
-saddle: Selle Italia SLR Superflow
-pedals: Look Keo carbon
-tires: Michelin 4
-wheels: Zipp 303s, re-built with DT Aerolight spokes and Chris King hubs. this may be the best money i spent. man, those Zipp hubs are just worthless. upgrading to the Chris Kings has made a BIG difference

Custom Gunnar Hyper-X

My road bike in the spring, spare road bike in the summer, and my CX bike in the fall. The black stem has since been replaced with a white one.

If only they were mine. I do have some planned for an upgrade, just do not know what ones I want to go with yet.

Here's my first new road bike since I recovered from knee replacement surgery: A 2013, XS Avail 3 Composite. Not sure what pedals I want yet. I did replace the girly white handlebar tape with black in honor of my now passed on, 1987 Cannondale Black Lightning!
