What road bike do you have?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Adriano, are both wheels 28" or is it an old TT rig with 26" in front?

it looks like it used to be a 650 front and 700 rear. I wonder how it'll handle? Wicked looking bike though.

My Trek 1.2T

Since I just got into cycling last year, I am still tooling around on a Trek 1.2T that I bought brand new. I have 2 gripes, triples make it easy to cheat, and the shifters due to those trippled, that thumb trigger sucks unfortunately if I want to get in drops and go, just when you are cresting the hill, come back up to the hoods so you can shift :/

One of these days I will upgrade to a better road bike, but for my first road bike and my first year back in the saddle after probably 20 years, I absolutely love the bike and have a soft spot in my heart for Trek as they have treated me very well.

theyre actually both 650c, and the frame is designed for 650cs. clearances are pretty wide, but the wheelbase is still only 96cm.

If you do some looking around, you might find chainrings that are more suited to your desired riding, you could even remove the inside chainring and reset your limiting screws to treat your triple like a double.

If you find yourself riding in the drops often, you could tilt your bars as to bring back of the drops to more of a horizontal and rotated your brifters down a bit so to be able to reach the thumb lever without straining your wrists.

Hope those ideas might help.

Hrmm, good idea. I will take a look at that. I just ran across Shimano Tiagra ST-4500 brifters that are double/triple and 9-speed. Found a few on ebay for under $100, so that might be something to look into. I will head on up to my LBS in the morning and see if they have a hook up for me. I think it is time I do their website for them, so maybe if I scratch their back, they can scratch, well not scratch but hook me up with some brifter love Thanks!

Just started in on the cycling gig about a month ago.
Right now I am riding a basically stock 2008 Fuji Newest 3.0. Only upgrades are a Serfas Aria Saddle and Look Keo Classic Pedals.
Plan to do some upgrades as I get more into cycling.

Steel is Real...heavy.

Sheldon says it's an '89 -- I would've sworn I bought it in '87 or '88.

New tires and brake pads last night prompted a minor cleaning, so I thought I'd make a photo op out of it as well (yes, I didn't quite fully shift onto the big ring in the living room).

My all-around race/training/commuting bike. Season #3. '07 Allez Elite with new wheels over the winter. She likes the crits...

- I noticed the green tires dont match anything else. Try Continental tires. The Gator Skin color, its like a burnt orange/brown. Your bike will look pretty evil.

It looks pretty mean/nice now, but those Continental tires make it look like a monster.

Personally I dont like SRAM, but it looks good on your bike.
his setup is pretty awesome. you got white and black throughout the bike with these bright tires, pretty awesome.

im not sure whether ill be using one, both, or neither of the levers, but the top position would be more useful if i could brake from it.

the chainrings are 38-56 in that picture. itll be a stretch for it to work, but if it doesnt, i have a 42 on the inner that i dont have any doubts about at all.

New to the forum, and do not have pictures of my bikes, sorry guys. I have been riding a 2002 Raleigh SC 30 Hybrid bike for about 7 years. Just bought my first road bike a 2008 Allez Elite in the Quickstep colors. Everything on the bike is stock, so my pictures would not show anything new and or exciting. Don't know what took me so long to get a "real" road bike, but have loved every mile on my Allez!

Hey everyone,

Just got my new Specialized Allez Compact. I'm new to riding and this is my first road bike. I'm hoping to learn a lot from the folks on here.

I seen some of the "smarter techs" doing that, ( on carbon forks with carbon steer tubes ) mainly to keep the "beast-master techs" from cranking down on the stem bolts and cracking the steer tube.

Not quite done. My BB is too short to run a front derailler, so it's 1x6 right now. Don't know if I'll bother getting a longer BB..
