tire width question

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

tire width question

hi all, i have a question about tire width, and would like to know people's experience on this.
are there much difference between 700x23 and 700x20 tire width?

i've been riding on 700x23 tire (contigp3k) for over 4k km(in 2 years) now, but i have the opportunity of getting some 700x20 tires cheap, i'm wondering if it's good idea to get them? or stick to the 700x23?
