Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Decisions… decisions…

I have a situation and need some advice. (oh boy!)
Before I started a family and priorities changed, I traded and built bikes with friends and collected a pile of parts. I have given bunches away, but have two boxes of stuff like:

Campy: seat posts, brakes, clips, Record hubs on Mavic rims, etc.
Regina Superleggera freewheels (still in the cans.)
Mavic S.S.C. Group. (Plus stems, bars, extra derailers, etc)
Miche hubs
Modolo Kronos and Professional brakes (never out of the box!)
Durex Montreal rims on Mavic hubs (tubular)
Suntour Cyclone derailers (In the boxes)
Avocet Racing saddles (I&II)
Early computers, Cinelli, TTT, cables, bars, etc. etc. etc.
They are all from the 70’s more or less.

Both kids are out and doing well but never caught the bike bug… I have a great classic Sannino with Campy Chorus restored, and an old Gitane with Campi Record just waiting to be redone.

Recent events in my life have me rethinking this stuff… should I continue holding on in the hopes of getting a nice old Guerciotti frame or something and building cool bikes… one day… or find them loving homes, as I have 2 more bikes than I can ride at once already? I hate to toss them on e-bay, (who knows who will get them?) Or leave them be and possibly keel over and have the kids donate them to The Salvation Army. (A great cause.) I have looked for kids interested in old school, (gave a cool Araya Aerodynamics and a Myata 7/12 to a couple young fellows in AZ) but they are mostly into fixed or new stuff now.

I am romantically involved, hard to decide… ideas?
