My Bike Friendly Town!
Here is a letter to the editor of our local newspaper. I submitted a letter to the editor as well in order to give a little more educated insight. I will keep you updated. Here is the link, followed is the letter.

Bicyclists Are A Nuisance
I would like to comment on the “bloggers’ week” article about riding a bike in the street “Two wheels on a popular bandwagon,” The Daily News June 9).
The streets were built for cars and trucks. A bike cannot keep up with the speed of cars. Then people want to holler and cry that they almost got run over by a car, because they were in a place designed for cars and trucks. What’s their problem?
Bicyclists don’t have to carry insurance or register their bicycle or get it inspected, so why should they be able to ride it in the middle of the street? It’s not fair to me.
I have had my share of run-ins with these people and they act as if I did something wrong, driving my inspected, insured and registered truck down the seawall.
Stay out of the street. That’s why there is a sidewalk for you to ride on.
Anyone riding their bike in a lane down Seawall Boulevard should be stopped by the cops and given a ticket for impeding traffic.
It’s idiots like that who cause problems for the rest of us. They could cause themselves or someone else to get hurt, because they think it’s cool to ride with cars.
Bicyclists should remember that cars are a lot bigger than they are, and they will lose. If they stay out of the streets, they will be fine.
Bikes are a good way to get around town but not in traffic lanes made for cars.

When I was 9 in Alexandria, VA was was told by a cop to get off the sidewalk or I would get a ticket. Not only is it legal to ride it he street it is illegal to ride on the sidewalk. I asked about my little sister with training wheel (smart a$$ kit deserves a ticket) and was told she cold get on too.

Someone should point out to the editors that they should review these letters to ensure what the redneck yahoos are stating are (a) factually correct and (b) arguing for legal actions. Even a little editors note at the bottom would have helped, plus, it would have made this guy look like the complete toothless, southern idiot he is.

On the same page, you can read a very compelling bit about how a local yocal disproves global warming, so I think that will tell you about the editorial policies of the Galveston Daily News. Next, one of them will report that there is no "O" in H2O, because they can't taste air when they drink water.
