Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Cinelli ?

Hi All,

I just posted a question in the Vintage Forums, but thought that some of you could help me out.

https://www.bikeforums.net/classic-vintage/310028-cinelli.html

I purchased a late 80's early 90's Cinelli off eBay and I'm not sure that it's authentic.

Thanks

Well if it's already purchased I guess it's a mute issue. I mean what would you do at that point if it isn't authentic?

More out of curiosity. I knew that it might be suspect, but I liked what I saw. I'm wondering how much money I'm willing to drop into fixing it up.

mute issue? ... moot, almost like the bike

agreed though, if it's already purchased, and for $70... if it isn't authentic, only you will know

as you say, if it's got the Cinelli embossing on the fork, I suppose that's as much as you can do, and as those other guys said in the vintage forum, for less than $200 you can't really go wrong.

I know it doesn'e mean everything, but Columbus Thron was a bit of a brick of a tube set.
It's just basic 25CrMo4
