Look Keo Carbon Pedals
I currently have SPD style pedals and I'm having an issue with the edges of my feet going numb after 20 miles or so. I've been told I need to have a larger platform since I have large feet (size 14). Does anyone have the Look Keo Carbon pedals, how do you like them?
Thanks.
Thanks.

I use them on my high end roadies, and like them better than any other I've used so far. I recommend them, as they are light, and have a decent platform. Definitely better than any SPD pedal.

I have 'em and like 'em a lot. (I went from Campy Pro-Fit to Keo's, FWIW.) You might want to see if it's your shoes or your cleat placement, though,if you're otherwise happy with your SPD's.

I'd reccomend the newer Shimano SPD-SLs - bigger platform, better durability, but either option is a good choice.

I like 'em
I have carbon Keo's on one bike and just put some Keo Classic's on my other. The carbons are a little lighter but the Classics are nice too.

Carbon Keos are nice but for 80 bucks less you can be just as happy with Keo Classics.
You can't go wrong with Look pedals (mostly)....others love theor Shimmys.
Only sore point with my Keos is the fast wearing cleats (although the new ones are supposed to be more wear resistant)

If you ride them more than once, they'll explode and take off your feet. They'rehighly reactive with carbon soles.
actually, I ride Keo Carbon CrMo's and I love them. They make a better clicking sound than anything else too.

fwiw I use either Crank Bros. Quattros (like an egg beater with a larger platform) and Speedplay Frogs. Both spd styles.
I was having major issues with numbness with my touring shoes (Spec. Sonomas) but with my road shoes (Spec Road comp, rigid plastic sole) not nearly the same hot spot. I only get numbness with those on 50 mileish ride+ if I forget to spin; otherwise they're just fine with those pedals. I found the Sonomas, which essentially have a thin midsole layer between foot and spd cleat were not to my liking for clipless - I now use those shoes for commuting with BMX platform peds or on charity rides with toe clips on an old road bike and they are fine - just stiff enough but you can get off and walk.
Having said that My road comps have a three-bolt too and I am also looking to uprade soon to Look, SPD-SL or Campys, to get a bigger platform (I'm a 12 E or 47 wide shoe)

Keo Carbons are just about perfect in my opinion. Can't claim to know anything about the Classics, but the Sprints are really nice as well. The Carbons do seem to be more durable than the Sprints- the carbon resin body seems tougher to damage than the plastic resin Sprints... and of course the Carbons are slightly lighter and look tricker. However both function equally well and either is a fantastic choice.
As for walking in the cleats, I live on the second floor of an open-court apartment complex, and I use the rubber cafe covers to go up and down the stairs- I just toss them in a corner near the gate of my building when I leave, and put them back on when I return. I don't spend much time walking during my rides... even if you flat or something, you're generally just standing or sitting as you fix the tube... I also bring the covers to races.

I like them, however I do think the cleat is weak spot. They wear very fast, and are prone to break in my experience.
The pedals are light and durable. I have a set of Carbon/Ti, when you are holding them in your hand, you can believe they weight as little as they do.

As far as the float, once I got the cleats dialed in to where I like them, the less float of the Keo was not a huge deal at all.
Only other deal was I had to readjust my seat - lower it down. The speedplay cleats are really tall.
All in all, love the Keo's, sold the Speedplays. Never looked back.

I use Look Keo's on all my road bikes and have been extremely happy with them. replacement cleats are cheap, I get a combo pack of gray cleats and covers for $14 from PBK or $20 from LBS and my last set of cleats has a couple of thousand miles on them and still have a lot of life left in them. I prefer the Carbon ones the extra roller bearings do make a difference. I have the Carbon Cro Mo and 2 sets of classics. I had to take apart one of the classics and clean and re grease after only 1k miles it was almost dry of grease and creaking. Re build is easy and have had no other problems. Easy in and out and no foot discomfort. I would recommend these to anyone and the price is ok especially from PBK I paid $103 when I got my Keo Carbon cro mo's last year

I have KEO Carbons on both of my road bikes. I've ridden 100 miles at a time on them with no discomfort or numbness.
