This the ultimate post ride wear?

You're done with your cycling event and really want to peel the bibs off. You want to let things 'air out' have a little freedom. You're already 'commando' and will be doing the towel/sarong dance to change anyway. So why not a kilt? We have the legs for it, ya know.

Discuss. And ya, it's a slow day at Castiron's office.

The event chairman for our local IDPA (pistol shooting competition) wears a combat kilt. No joke.

That said, i never argue with someone when they have a gun holstered at their hip, no matter what they wear ;)

If you like it, go for it.

botto 06-26-07 03:18 PM

if you wear them the way they're intended to be worn, they tend to be too hot when it's over 60-65°F.

Which way is that?

Have you ever seen an Asian guy in kilts? Culturally insensitive punk.

;)

And they're too hot above 65°? At the risk of the merciless mocking of botto, I don't follow that at all. Commando is the least overheatingest steez (you can figure it out; use context) out there.

Oh yeah. I'm gonna wear a "utilikilt." That'd be like pouring gasoline on the dork-fire.

And please, for the sake of the wimmins and childrens, no more pics.

There are sport kilts too... a friend has one, and it's a great way to change in public at races.

recursive: sweat without any wicking material = bad news and too hot. Even boxers provide some wicking on one side of your junk. Commando = too warm (especially if it's humid)

paul_858 06-26-07 03:50 PM

example of said "combat kilt" He's the RSO.

I have a changing kilt. It has velco to close it as it wraps around your waist. I use it to change in and out of my kit, after some races I'll drive home in it.

I wear a sport kilt post ride all the time. The 'devil dog tartan'

I wonder if you can get a blank kilt, and get it silkscreened with your bike team colors !!

Kilts..but what about footwear?

Just saw a rack of these bad boys at a local LBS...Reef sandals (in a variety of styles I might add), with a bottle opener built into the sole!! What better to wear with a man-skirt to show 'em you mean business..
