E3 saddle....tailbone killin me!
Got the e3 saddle and took it for a ride of 5 miles...no problem. Did 40 miles this past saturday.
was shifting around a lot, could not find a spot. on wednesday...omg! my tailbone was killing me! had a real hard time sitting, getting up and down and driving my vehicle. it is hurting now as i type this. never ever had this feeling before from a bike seat.........anybody have the e3? comments? |
You know, that's funny, I put an E3 on my MTB, and after 90mins of heavy trail riding, my tailbone is kinda sore too. Not sure if it was the saddle, or just getting beat up for that long.

I had a well-conditioned rear end before I tried the E3. I rode it for about 40 miles, as I recall, and it took me 3 long months to get over a saddle sore from that one ride. My belief is that the only support you have is your two sit bones on a little piece of something and it wore me out quick. Everybody to their own but the E3 was certainly not for me. One of the biggest mistakes I have ever made in cycling. Kindly - Don

I got an E3(non gel) a few years ago, it took about a week to finally get the positioning right. It was extremely frustrating, as I was stopping all the time to adjust fore/aft and tilt. I'd get rid of one pain, then get another. But when I finally did get it dialled, it felt great. I ended up with it a little more forward on the rails with a tiny down ward tilt, and raised the post a couple of mm. Still got it, still love it, and for $40 I might get another.

I had an E3.
Hurt my butt. Took it back to Performance. Drove to another shop. Bought a Brooks. Butt never hurts. Ever. |
