World Class vs Ebay
Ordered a couple items from World Class Cycles in NY on the 28th of June. Said items arrived today in Arizona before noon.
Won an item on ebay the 22nd of June. Have no clue whether or not said item has been shipped. Item is located 30 miles away. Checked parcel post (slowest) delivery time which is next day delivery. Emailed seller to send tracking information after six business days. Nadda. Normally I'd say you get what you pay for, but in this case, World Class blows that theory out of the water. It's only been 8 days, but we live in the same city for crying out loud. Any good tips or suggestions on how long to give this guy or how you'd handle it from here? He left feedback commenting "super fast payment". |
A bit confusing. You are in AZ and they are in NY only 30 miles from you? Or are these 2 questions. If it is an scambay seller I email a week after the sale to confirm if item has shipped.

Merely comparing good service (World Class Cycles) to poor service (ebay seller):
World Class is in NY. I'm in AZ. I ordered something off their site two days ago and it arrived today (read fast...). Compare that to the ebay item I won and paid for on the 22nd of June and still no goods. The seller and I both live in Phoenix. I emailed the ebay seller after a week with no response. No way to track. No item. He could have walked the item to me by now. Just mad. I think I'm getting scammed. That's all. |
Here is the easiest way to get a repsonse from your seller, you as a buyer can request there contact info, this will give you there name and phone #.. You will need the sellers id and ebay auction #

the fact that it shipped parcel post means 1 day or 1 week.. You have to know that parcel post is the worst way to send anything..

To add; I don't know how the seller is shipping. The auction only said flat rate so, I was checking worst case situation i.e. parcel post.
|
make the contact info request, ebay send hims your info and you gets his.. Usually when a seller sees you made this request an email will follow almost immediately. some sellers worst fear is that a pissed off buyer will call..
Parcel post shipping estimates are not correct.. Parcel post is always the last items processed by a post office, if they get busy, they sit and wait until the next day.. They go to the back of the line. Items sent parcel post can sit for a week before processed.. I have had items I sent make it coast to coast in 3 days w/ 1st class mail and an item I bought from a seller who used parcel post, just 100 miles away take 10 days.. I like you thought it was lost and then the postal clerk explained how parcel post is processed.. After that experience I always ask for 1st class or priority mail.. |
Thanks socal. I didn't realize it worked like that! I'll ease off for a while...

I do not understand the theory of ebay=scambay? Buying on ebay is like buying from any place, except with ebay, you know a few things about the seller-country of origin, reputation, quality of product selection etc. Because of ebay, I was able to engage in various recreational and atheletic pursuits without spending too much money. I say if you get scammed, it's 90% the fault of the buyer for not doing prior research.

As far as fault goes, it's 100% the fault of the scammer whether it be ebay or anywhere else on taking someones money and not fulfilling their end of the deal. The ignorant buyers can lessen the chance of getting scammed by doing what you suggest, but saying it's the buyers "fault" is not correct, imo of coarse. |
It might be as simple as the ebay seller could be on vacation. That being said waiting a week for a item to be shipped from 30 miles away is nuts. Some people don't check email every day but a week with no response is not acceptable. File a item not received claim with ebay. That's your first step to either getting a answer or a refund from the seller.

I do not understand why you just don't make the contact info request, then pick the phone up and call the seller and ask what is going on??
|
I have requested and received the info via ebay today.
