Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Assos knee warmers

Had to buy some new knee warners due to a cold spell in Scotland.
Bought some Assos ones. They fitted fine in the shop but I was a bit worried that there are no real leg grippers at the top, they're just very slightly stretchy (using the material itself and no extra elastic). Thought that because it was Assos they would have it sorted. Unfortunately they're not staying up. It's either my sparrow legs or the warmers themselves.

Anyone else noticed this problem? Wondering if I can take them back to the shop as they're not fit for purpose!

- i have tree trunk legs and my knee warmers don't stay up either...

- went for calf-length bibs and all is well... (and knees are warm when worn)

:-)

I have had my Assos knee warmers for years. They stay up fine. Sorry, but now we must make fun of your sparrow legs.

No problems with mine, though I guess they did shift downwards slightly over the rides where I've used them. The only complaint is that the elastic sits a little too snug on my calves, since I'm tallish I might have preferred them to be a little longer, but the stretch and compression is fantastic.

I have one pair of Assos bibs, and the elastic is quite snug around the thigh (in a good way), I wonder whether that might help while using the knee warmers.
