Good bike shop in London

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Good bike shop in London

Are all UK bikers doomed to shop at Halford's or are there still some good LBS in London?

Why what are you after?

Halfords is more a car accessories shop that sells some bikes.

Went past an awesome shop in Putney the other day - think it is called Holdsworths on the Lower Richmond Road off Putney High Street.

Where are you based? Evans and Cycle Surgery have a few branches and a good range of stuff, if a little vanilla.

It's not for me it's for a friend who lives in Finchley and is looking for her first real bike.

I'd rather steer her towards a store that will take time to fit her etc. than somewhere like Halfords.

Thanks for the tips.
