Your take on Shimano 600 brake calipers

Got an opportunity to purchase a set.

How's the braking power? And other qualities?

thanks!

Fine. Good actually. Single pivot design won't be the same as the dual, but both are good.

I've a pair circa 1991. Still going strong.

I still ride a pair of dual pivots circa 1992. They are great clampers.

braking power is quite good and they look sharp...I have one up front on my FG w/koolstop pads.

I noticed a marked difference between the single pivot Shimano 600 calipers on my Trek and the dual pivot Shimano's on my road bike. They will still stop you but you have to apply much more pressure.

I like mine. Very easy to operate.
