How much do my wheels weigh?
A set of Alex Rims r500 came with my Felt z90 and i was wondering how much they weigh. I have done a couple of searchs online to find the specs, but none of them show the weight.
Also, should i keep them or should I invest in a $100-$200 wheel set. What kind?
Thanks

I have a digital scale that does grams or pounds. Send your wheels to me and tell me which unit(s) you would like to know the weight on. Return shipping not guaranteed

a 100$ or 200$ dollar wheelset will not be an "upgrade" for your bike. You would probably need to spend at least double that. You can get a set of Reynolds Solitude wheels that weight in arounf 1550 for 350 on ebay.

I would also suggest the weight for such a wheelset would be in the high 1800-1900 g range.
You never need an excuse to upgrade, but I would personally just continue using those wheels with your bike until to have to replace them.

When i do decide to replace them or just upgrade what should i be looking at to ride on. I am not going to be racing on them, riding probably 4-6 days out of the week, my area is nothing but hills (almost no flat stretches), and i weigh 170lbs. Also i would like them to be $300-400 or less. Just something that is the best bang for my buck.

Google PeterWhite for an interesting read.
I ride a felt F65 and just ordered Velocity Uriels as an upgrade for my Shimano R550s.
In your case, and since you asked, Id recommend you look at Neuvation M28 Aero 2s and they are on sale right now for $229-269. You can also aways find shimano wheels (550s or 560s) on ebay for dirt cheap. Ive had good luck with mine and plan to keep them as back ups.

Another vote for Neuvations. Both me and a friend are riding on them now--both R28's and M28's with "almost" no problems at all. My friends R28 rear had some spoke nipple issues. (after ~4000 miles) He contacted John Neugent and was sent, within days, a new rear wheel along with a BLANK check to cover return shipping of the old wheel. Service**********??
My M28's have seen ~5000 miles so far with bits of dirt road thrown in with no problems save a rear wheel truing about 1000 miles ago after I hit a pothole at speed. My friend has his on his cross bike.......
R28's: 350.00 @1540 g
M28's: 250.00 @1740g

I happen to have a set of Neuvations, new take-offs, for sale... as well as some pre-owned Am Classic 350's...

I bought mine at icycles last year. I seem to remember having a 10% coupon or first order coupon, so it was $220 shipped. You might google around and see what you can find.
The ebay route is probably fine IF the seller's feedback is good. That's with any ebay transaction.
