I don't know much about road bikes but I would like to start riding them though. I am sixteen years old and work at a bike shop in Georgia, Bicycles Unlimited. I've been riding my Trek Fuel for quite some time now and I would love to ride the road. I have been looking at the Klein Q-Carbon Team as my first bike, but i'm not compleatly sure. If anyone has any recommendations that would be great.

You work in a bike shop and can't find a bike you like? I would be test riding everything in stock. With that said, the Klein is a very nice bike. I would shop around and get most for your money. Also you didn't say what you wanted to do on the road, training, racing or just for fun. With a little more info we can try to help.

Many people coming to buy bikes in your shop may be upgrading their bikes and may want to sell them. You are in an ideal position to pick up a great value used bike, and have the tools to do it up properly. At your age you probably dont have money to burn, and a decent used bike will ride every bit as good as a brand new model.
You may even be able to get a bike for free from training-grade discarded components. My brother rode and raced on a bike which he put together from discarded components. I still use some of them after he chucked them out !!.

Hey thanks guys. Everynight the bike shop hosts rides that are up to 22mi. I plan on just riding for fun and exercise. I'll see if i could take out various bikes and try these night rides.

the jamis eclipse is an awesome value. it's a reynolds 853 steel frame with ultegra and mavic kysrium SL's. all for $2k. your bike shop may not carry them, but if they do, definitely look into this bike.

That sounds awesome, maybe i could order it. I'll look more into that. For stock bikes on our floor i can get a 40% discount. I'll check if the same applies if i were to order a bike.

You may also want to consider a KHS Flite 800. It's also an 853 frame with great components out of the gate. Fast and Smooth. It would run you about $1600.
