My Sunday Ride w/Pics (No 56k)

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

My Sunday Ride w/Pics (No 56k)

Well I bought a camera today to take with me on rides. Tired of missing some cool stuff I see while riding. I have a nice Canon Digital Rebel XT, but it is just too large to take on rides.

I bought a Canon PowerShot SD1000 Digital ELPH 7.1MP. I should have played with it a bit before taking on the ride with me, but I just had to try it out!

Motionbased Data - http://trail.motionbased.com/trail/e...kValue=3310758

Oh I also wanted to prove Central Indiana isn't all cornfields and flat roads.

My Dashboard

My Dirty Cervelo

My new seat, not an ass hatchet like my SLR XP!

Kokomo's only mup which is about 1 mile long lol

Nice old neighborhood by UCT Park

Ok so Central Indiana is mostly Corn Fields

Most the area west of Kokomo is rolling hills. They provide a decent workout.

OMG INSERT 400w Picture

Trees are pretty this time of year.

Ski Club's lake.

Kinda blurry, but the road is tree covered for about 3 miles like this with lots of turns.

Pictures really make some climbs look flat, this is about 4% (Hey It's Central Indiana)

More of the same road, it's called Old Sycamore for those who might know the area.

More rolling hills

I was suffering taking this picture the hill is about 7%, but one handed trying to take a picture ain't easy!

Cool looking old barn.

More rolling hills on Old Sycamore, they avg between 4-10%, I just wish they were longer

Pretty Weeds

30+mph rear shot

Now we can see the corn!

Another neat old barn! And you can tell it is Indiana with the hoop.

Beans

Wow, there's a 7% hill in Indiana? My grandparents live in Logansport. I'm well acquainted with your backwoods : )

Great pictures!! Lots of shade. I like that idea. We don't have lots of big trees around here so there are not too many places with shade covering the road.

I think the 421 Watts means you are safe from R600Durace. He's gunning for the 399 Watters.

Nice pics. You could do a Tour of ole Barns up there. It'd make for a neat picture gallery.

Nice pictures. I wish Michigan had more roads that were ridable like this, but many (most?) of our back-country roads are gravel, so the paved roads tend to carry all the traffic.

Great Pics! But everybody's said that already...futz with your ISO settings to take clearer pics when you're on the move...some of those shots would have been killer if they were in better focus.

I love the Canon SD Elphs. They're great cameras, but you need to fidget with the settings somewhat.

Yeah I agree 100% I had just opened it and jumped on the bike. My goal was to be able to take pictures safely first I think I got the riding postion down to fiddle with the
camera.

And yes the Race X Lite Aero is laced to a Powertap SL. It is a very nice wheel, alot stiffer than the Easton Vistas.
