Road Movie

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Road Movie

I saw this movie awhile back but I can't remember the name of it. A boy gets an Italian road bike, and begins racing despite his fathers disaproval. It has a good scene of him racing with a semi on the highway. Anyone with good memory would be appreciated on this one. To mix it up, see how many bicycling movies you can list.

This thread seems familiar.

I also recently caught a neat movie called Dark Blue World where there are some scenes of Czech volunteer pilots-in-training (by the RAF during WW2) who practice their formation and fighter tactics on the ground by dressing up bicycles to look like little airplanes and riding them around attacking each other. The movie also has some really great Spitfire combat scenes.

Has anyone noticed that the main character of
the movie is a poster here on Forums?

Dark Blue World is a very good movie, but more for aviation buffs. Americans tend to think in terms of the American experience in WW2; which ignores (of course) most of the war. To go through all that, just incredible.....
