Cheap Frame

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Cheap Frame

What really constitutes a cheap frame? I have seen a road bike with full campy record, ritchey WCS stuff, etc. with a Kinesis aluminum frame for less than $2k. Flashing add to the right of what you are reading at bikes direct.
What makes it a cheap frame to stay away from, keep components and buy a better frame.
Is it geometry, material, tubing, brazing, angles?
Do manufacturers really put a scum-mart frame to compliment high end componentry?

Tubing may be slightly heavier, or flex more. In the case that the tubing is the same you may have shoddy welds. Mostly it is the quality of workmanship.

Cheap as in inexpensive or poorly made? You can pay alot for the latter.
