most cool feeling?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

most cool feeling?

what is the absoloute coolest feeling you get while you ride? you know that moment when everything tends to kinda freeze and your like "so this is why i do this?" mine is hitting a huge curve and getting in behind somone and keeping that perfect sync with them while you wind down a road. what about you?

Mine is having one of those days when everything is running smoothly-- I feel good, the bike feels good, the roads are smooth and there's no traffic. There's nothing like the feeling of having the right amount of rhythm and energy and flying up a hill like it's nothing and then cruising on down the road. Boom. Boom. Boom. Love it!

(Doesn't happen often enough, though).

I like getting into a rhythm going up a hill, and standing on the pedals, because sometimes I forget the bike is under me, and it's the closest feeling to flying up a hill I think I'll ever have.

Followed closely by a fast banked corner when you're afraid of dragging your inside pedal your leaned over so hard.

The coolest feeling is when I ride to the LBS, buy a bunch of expensive stuff, ride home to install it and then spend the next week authoring posts on bikeforums about how cool my new stuff is instead of riding my bike.

For me it is when I get into a really good rhythm on my bike up a long climb. You know the point where the pain kind of goes away, and you do not really feel as if you are pushing it hard but you are. There is something great about that feeling.

I felt it heading up I-70 during last Saturday’s Triple Bypass.

Getting checked out by the girls in the car next to me at the stoplight. They're either giggling out of excitement at seeing my chiseled calves or laughing at the ******bag in lycra.

At the end of the ride when my computer says I did my route more quickly than last time.

Or when I eat a big meal without guilt because I rode XX miles today.

Or when I realize some schmucks are couped up in a gym to get the same results.

That moment where I'm able to detach my actions from my pain, then either survive the current effort or push to physical failure.

Just don't bother... really.

I say, if you're going to ride around scantily clad you can't expect to be ignored.

For me the coolest feeling is when I forget about everything and just stop thinking...that point where you have nothing on your mind and your just relaxed. You look down and see the chain whirling by, the sound of the tires on the road, and the best part...this state of relaxation is brought on by your own body. Leaving reality behind, that is the coolest feeling.

What isn't she supposed to bother with? Paying attention to people like you?

I agree. Gotta don them sweats and long sleeve sweaters. Yep. Uh huh. Sure. *nods head*

The most cool feeling I have is the feeling of freedom. The freedom to fly. The wind in my face, the sound of it in my ears. That deafening sound. The sound of speed. The sound of your breathing. When everything goes past you. The fears, the worries, the inner peace that is achieved. THAT is cool.

"Drope" is a term that was coined by RyanF's wrong spelling of "Drop". It's kind of an on-going joke here.

The first rule of Ryanf clichés: we don't talk about Ryanf clichés. Just use them and move along.

I had mine today. Drafting in the large A-group, and you hear nothing but the sweet sound of slick tires rolling on the smooth pavement. No coasting, no talking, no cars. Nirvana.

The second would have to be my first ever pursuit at a Velodrome, and I felt so connected to the bike, so in syc. When I passed the kid I started against I then realized that cycling is what I live for.

The last was after I face planted myself on my MTB on Sunday. My friends and I were on the side of the trail joking around, as I'm sitting down laughing, I realize what a mess I am, bloody, sweaty, muddy, grass sticking from my shoes and surviving on a Clif Bar.

I'm still trying to find out why 2tired2shift is an A-hole?? He's a guy looking at chick's in clothing that they KNOW is going to make guys look. Have we gotten so bad in America that men aren't allowed to look at girls? For crying out loud, my posts have been anger filled lately because of statements such as that. And it's droping...
