Funniest comment from a moving car

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I was going up Vail Pass in Colorado where the bike path follows the Interstate 70 shoulder and was next to a big semi truck. The driver's partner said, "Grab on and we'll tow you up the hill." I answered, "No Thanks, I'm going faster then you are."

I've gotten projectiles from moving cars before. Didn't find it funny though.

The only thing I can remember being yelled to me from a car was some redneck passenger in a truck yelling out the window asking me if I wanted a cigarette... very original, idiot.

riding home during a blizzard which completely shut down traffic, a lady looked at me riding my fixie between the stopped cars, smiled pleasantly and said "nice" as i biked by her window.

as far as funniest, i heard a jeep driving down the road with the stereo blasting the umpa loompa song.

I was at a stop light in full lycra kit when a chick in a big old 80's car (monte carlo is my guess?) leaned out of her window with a cigarette and said 'Gotta light?'. I thought that was pretty funny.

Pedestrian moment had by my wife, but she is also a cyclist, so it counts. Walking in our neighborhood (25 mph) we always let cars know if they are going to fast, by simply waving our hands downward. We, along with a lot of our neighbors, only do it if the speeding is really egregious, like 20 mph over the limit.

So anyway, last week, my nine-month pregnant wife (in great shape with only baby weight) was walking by herself for exercise during the middle of the day and a sports car went flying by, so she gave them the slowdown motion and thought nothing of it. Well, the car ended up doubling back and pulled up alongside her. It's two young "cool guys," and one of them yells, "Shut the F*** up you fat bi*ch." She started laughing uncontrollably and they sped off. Pretty funny that is all they could come up with. However, wish I would have been there. Things would have been much, much different.

Heh. I do this too. I'm *this* close to becoming the guy who stands on his lawn shaking a rake at the young wippersnappers with their clothes and their hair and their rock 'n' roll music.

I was going down the empty right lane of a two lane blvd and a pickup pulled along side me and the driver yelled out "do you have to take up the whole lane?" so I said "do you?"

On a summer morning ride a few years ago when the summer high school gym students were doing some speed walking along my route, as I passed one young lady yelled out "Looking good Mr A." Never learned who it was but it picked up my cadence.

In Tom Hanks film, "Magnificent Desolation" (the 3D IMAX film that, frankly, makes you feel like you are on the moon with the astronauts), at the beginning they ask this little boy, "Who was the first man to walk on the moon?"
He gets this big smile and says, "Lance Armstrong."

I was totally cool with it, but she was a little weirded out that I had to use a fake ID just to hang out with her. Of course, she still thought I was gorgeous anyway.
